Best HeadSETS for use with Astro Mixamp (gaming)
I read around a little more. Does the Siberia V2 really lack a noticeable amount of soundstage compared to the AD700? I have the Astro A40 and AD700 and I feel I have to use the A40 because the AD700 STILL hurts my ears with those highs. I feel like I need something with a balance between good...- kILLDR3n

Best HeadSETS for use with Astro Mixamp (gaming)
I have the AD-700 that I use for music, but with the mixamp on shooters they have very screeching highs that literally hurt my ears. Directional audio and such is fine with Dolby Headphone, but I need something with a little more bass. I actually prefer a headset with a microphone. I'd rather...- kILLDR3n

Heh the mixamp seems to add dB by itself to the lows causing buzzing on high bass. Too bad for me...- kILLDR3n

Quote: Well I use my Realtek EQ and honestly still thinks it sounds amazing. With the Realtek EQ off for the whole PC everything sounds like straight crap.- kILLDR3n

Quote: For the first time after three years of owning my Astro mixamp I finally tried the AD700 with it. Bass is just nicer is all I can really say. Should I be using the iTunes EQ with it still? Flat sounds bad...or is there some universal EQ or program I should I have? EDIT: It...- kILLDR3n

Quote: Thanks for the input. I turned the preamp all the way down and turned up my volume a little and its completely gone. My EQ is a lot different than that though. My highs are up a lot. Drains down the vocals a little bit, but honestly I tried yours and it sounded too hollow...- kILLDR3n

Quote: I initially did a few months ago. I rid of it by readjusting. I can't name exactly why I did. But there is hardly any static now with somewhat sufficient bass.- kILLDR3n

Quote: I honestly didn't even touch the preamp. Just screwed with all the frequencies. I adjusted it enough to sound clearer than flat with more bass as well. Should I not do this? I feel as if this set up right now sounds pretty amazing already.- kILLDR3n

Quote: Yeah that's why I kind of feel of the 595 too. What would be a better upgrade? Also is it a problem that I'm already using iTunes EQ with everything? Throwing an amp on top of that won't be a problem right, but just cause better performance?- kILLDR3n

I'm thinking about just amping my AD700. Might get a card with an internal headphone amp. Would this be a better difference than just getting a 595 with no amp? Also which card would be best? Preferably under $200?- kILLDR3n

I currently own the AD700 accompanied with my onboard soundcard. Oddly enough you guys might think, I think these sound amazing with just my standard Realtek Audio Manager functions and some enhancers in iTunes. Anyway, I feel like wasting some money. So I see HD 595 is $120...- kILLDR3n
