I totally agree. Post after post has been hijacked by people more obsessed with capacitors, resistors and pots etc. and not the quality of musical reproduction or enjoyment. The thing that really irritates me is the god-like status any of the DIY amps achieve. Think META, Pimeta, PPA blah...

Can somebody with a european version (230v) of the Perreaux tell me whether the transformer inside is 230v or 2 x 115 (as it is on mine - US version) If it's a 2 x 115v transformer for both regions then I can do away with my voltage converter and just change the jumpers inside the box...

What's this, nobody recommending Perreaux anymore? The Perreaux SXH-1 has a lovely rich "tubey sound", totally devoid of any SS harshnes but with the benefits of improved dynamics over your average tube amp.

So it would appear this was part of the "strategic fit" issues Perreaux had with AA. However, I would like to take Clinton to task on his assertion that this problem is due to rough handling during shipping. I believe (and I'm sure Clinton knows) that this is in fact a production problem...

I think all of this may in some way be connected with Perreaux's "strategic fit" issues which have led to the end of its relationship with Audio Advisor.
