Which laptop has the best soundcard pre-loaded?
I have the 2008 MacBook Pro and I rather like the headphone out on it. I previously used the Turtle Beach AAM out of a Dell, and like it better than that.- juni0r

I might cry. Finding headphones is too hard.

Specific Gaming Headset.
While I like my A900, I feel its soundstage is definitely not at a level that would be ideal for gaming. If you're playing alone at home and don't have too much outside noise, I find that open phones work better for FPS. As said already, just stick with 'regular' headphones; you don't need...- juni0r

ATH A700s, Beyer 770's, Bass... aaand I'm confused.
Well, I can really only give you like a temporary response until someone gives you a better one, but as an owner of the bass-heavy Sennheiser HD 590 and Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 EB, I can say that the Audio-Technica's aren't bass-light. I personally plan on getting an A900 sometime.- juni0r

2.0 Computer Speakers
Okay, got them pretty quickly (overnight using ground shipping from ANTOnline @ Amazon). Very bass light, even when compared to the Klipsch and Swans. Doesn't sound too bad though. I like the Swans since they're the same price but a lot better, so if you can afford to put the sub somewhere, it's... -
2.0 Computer Speakers
Didn't realize the ProMedias weren't in official production anymore. Looks like I'm gonna get the T40's, and I'll comment here when I get a chance to listen. -
2.0 Computer Speakers
Looking for help on a ~$100 2.0 system, something like the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 (which I've heard and liked given that I didn't have high expectations or anything). I'm particularly looking for people who can compare the Klipsch and the Creative GigaWorks T40 which pretty much seems like...- juni0r

Sony Announces a $100 Price Drop on the PS3
Not to advertise CC or anything, but I got mine last night from Circuit City with a free extra wireless controller, which pretty much just covered tax here in Jersey...without the controller I probably would have bought it online.- juni0r

Indigo DJ and ExpressCard
I just got a Dell Inspiron 9400. Problem: I bought the Indigo DJ before buying the laptop (smart, I know ), and now I find out that the laptop has the new ExpressCard slot instead of the old PCMCIA slot. The Indigo doesn't fit into this. Does anyone know of a way I can get it to work? If not, I...- juni0r

newbie needs help
The Sennheiser HD 650 you have been reading about indeed is an excellent headphone. I personally wish it had more bass impact but I must emphasize it is no slouch in that department and it is absolutely solid. I wish I could offer more insight but I'm sure the other more experienced members will...- juni0r

displaying posters?
There are thin 'frames' that are nothing more than a plastic sheet covering the front and individual, removable 'frame' pieces as a border. They aren't the big typical ones and they serve the basic purpose of protecting the poster when under display.- juni0r

Ivy League Colleges
Oistrakh, just because eric had a 3.5 doesn't make MIT 'easy' to get into by any stretch of the imagination. Running a company like his, Audiogeek, is something that few teenagers can claim (note that some of his products have gotten rave reviews on this forum, impressive considering how...- juni0r

Ivy League Colleges
DieInAFire, my comments are mainly because I have friends who have become very well at playing a particular instrument yet they have no interest in it and pretty much only did it because their parents have an illusion that playing an instrument is necessary to get into. Sure, the discipline's...- juni0r

Ivy League Colleges
Oistrakh, you might have misunderstood me. What I mean about the orchestra thing is that if you played an instrument for tons of years prior to college and you include this on your application, sure, it's nice, but it's not gonna guarantee you entrance. The way they view it is as such: if you're...- juni0r
