Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread
Sirs, just one simple question: will the Roon + Chord 2go + 2yu allow me to control the volume knob of the target DAC/IntegratedAMP via USB/COAX? Target device — Technics SU-G700 integrated amplifier with DAC (USB and COAX inputs). Right now Roon through AirPlay or Chromecast (Technics SL-G700...- jsts

CCS-MOD for Stax SRM-600
Files attached. BOM is published in the thread (first post). Particular attention should be focused on the screwed spacer sleeves. Good luck! https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/11477670.zip (TTF.zip) https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/11477671.zip (KTK-CCS-MOD.pcb.zip) TTF are font files. They must be selected...- jsts

Stax SR-X9000
Rereading the topic and the feedback from headfiers, I am convinced that: - when there was multibit DACs and tubes amps, STAX sought to make the most detailed headphones. - when sigma-delta DACs and fast transistors conquered the market, STAX produced the more relaxed 9000. I was able to...- jsts

Stax SR-009 - Which DAC? Hugo 2 or RME?
Brief impressions of my new true balanced NOS DAC Norma HS-DA1 on PCM1704 chips in comparison with Chord Hugo 2. 1. Chord Hugo 2 is an excellent DAC, but in the context of use with STAX too sharp and bright. Less bright than the RME ADI 2, but still. To tame it a bit you should use a copper...- jsts

009BK+SRM600+Chord Hugo 2. I was surprised to find that replacing the AudioQuest Sydney (silver plated) RCA-RCA interconnect with Kimber Kable Hero copper cable significantly changed the sound signature: high frequencies gained calmness and confidence, bass gained scale and depth. A clear 3D...- jsts

Stax SR-009 - Which DAC? Hugo 2 or RME?
I had an RME. Now I have the Hugo 2. Just sharing my experience: I sold my DAC RME ADI-2 and switched to Chord Hugo 2. The reason is simple: RME ADI-2 is very sharp, very detailed, very bright DAC. The difference between the analytical ADI-2 and the calmer Hugo 2 on "California" by James Blunt...- jsts

The Stax Thread III
By the way, I've been using RCA for 15 years and never XLR. Two questions if anyone knows: 1. Are the XLR inputs on the SRM-600 true-balanced (-0+)? 2. When the amplifier is turned on, input 1 (RCA) is active by default. Can I make input 3 (XLR) active by default when the amplifier is turned on?- jsts
