Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Even though these are an open design, sound leakage is minimal. In my office with a typical level of noise (phones, conversation, fluorescent lights) there is no way somebody in the cube next to mine is going to hear these. If somebody is sitting right next to you in a library-quiet environment...- jrbdmb

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I haven't had a chance to A / B test the silicone tips vs. the Comply tips, perhaps I'll try after I just enjoy the 10s for a few days without thinking too much about it. I am definitely in the shove-em-in as far as I can group. For me I've never really been able to handle silicone tips, they...- jrbdmb

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I just received my new iSine 10s from Audeze in exchange for a RMA'd set :(. Sad that I had to be without these for about two weeks, but the good news is the replacements shipped with the new silicone tips. They are pehaps a bit thicker and stiffer, but the main difference is that the ribbed...- jrbdmb

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I'm a unhappy camper right now. I purchased the iSine 10s from Adorama almost exactly a month ago (March 24). I've been thrilled with the sound of these and was happily using them whenever possible. But today (April 24) I noticed the left side didn't sound right, every time I moved just a...- jrbdmb

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I tried to put Comply 500s on my new iSine 10s - no chance. But the new Comply 600s work fine. I chose the Comfort TS-600s because the tips are a hair wider than the Isolation T-series and fit may huge ear canals better.- jrbdmb

The Accudio app by golden ears, a headphone revolution.
I downloaded Accudio Pro a few days ago and have been playing around with it since then. Overall I am very impressed with its capability to improve the sound of some of my less-than-hifi headphones. For example, they make my Creative Aurvana Gold headphones (which I previously used for voice...- jrbdmb

JDS Labs C5/C5D (pg96) portable amp/amp+DAC
I have a question too. I am considering the C5 to pair with my iPhone 6, mainly for use at home. One of the things I want to *avoid* is a mediocre volume control pot that creates channel imbalance at lower listening levels - which leaves out most portable amps and reasonably priced desktop amps...- jrbdmb

What does science think I should buy in the head fi market?
No, I don't notice clipping with the 598s and the iPhone, but I'm often got the volume set just a few steps below max, esp. on classical music which tends not be mastered as loudly overall as most recent rock / pop. I also wondered about performance around 100 Hz or so, where the measured...- jrbdmb

What does science think I should buy in the head fi market?
Sorry to be going OT (a bit) - but I've been wondering for a while why a "neutral" headphone is often considered a bad thing. I'll often read that certain brands or models are good for specific kinds of music, or that many will avoid neutral sounding headphones because they are boring. But...- jrbdmb

Press Release: Sennheiser launches URBANITE headphones
I was given a set of the Urbanite XL through the Amazon Vine program. After trying them, I'm not overly impressed. The midrange and treble are OK, you can tell the response isn't quite flat to the limits of my hearing (14K or so) but they are able to get there. But the big issue is a...- jrbdmb

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
I'm not sure that will help much. I have a different Logitech product, the Fabricskin keyboard cover for iPad Air. Take a look at the reviews of this one ... http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Fabric-Keyboard-Folio-Carbon/product-reviews/B00EZ9XHVG More 1 star reviews than any other...- jrbdmb

New Creative Earphones - The Aurvana In-Ear 3
I got a pair through Amazon, reviewed them there. http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Aurvana--Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphones/dp/B004SNCZ3K Short answer - mid-centric which is not my preference at all. I much prefer my UE 700s to these. The Aurvana 3s have less bass, less treble...- jrbdmb

So, I bought TF10 for my sister, and she didn't like it.
Second the UE 700 ... less expensive, dual drivers, decent sound, and tiny.- jrbdmb

Westone 3, Ultimate Ears 700, Koss CC_01 -> ON EAR?
Have you tried the foam Comply tips that come the the 700s? They may make the 700s or Westone 3s more bearable for you to wear.- jrbdmb

Altec lansing backbeat pro for 40 bucks worth it?
I have used both the Backbeat Pro (UHP606) and Backbeat Titanium (UHP326) earphones, and IMHO the Titaniums sound better. With the armature driver the highs are good on the Pros, but the midrange thru upper bass are really emphasized, while there isn't much low bass to be found. The Titaniums...- jrbdmb
