Annual St. Louis Spring Meet - May 20, 2017
Hey, neighbor! I live like 10 minutes away and was surprised to learn an audio company is so close. A coworker and I plan to stop by, but we don't have much headphone gear to bring. He's just getting into the hobby and not sure what to buy. Most of my audio stuff is home stereo related, but...- jpciii

noob: Where can I find those really short cables for portable headphone amps?
Do they have a name? Can you give me some search terms for them? Longer cables are available everywhere, but what about the really short ones (like 3 -4 inches) that everyone uses for their portable setups? Thanks!- jpciii

Walnut Hi-Fi V2 WAV (& MP3) Player by wt - :ok_hand: screenless budget killer combo DAP/Amp :ok_hand:
To be fair, the Yamaha gear costs 15 - 20 times more than the walnut. Also, Yamaha gear can lean towards the "bright" end of the sound spectrum.- jpciii

Walnut Hi-Fi V2 WAV (& MP3) Player by wt - :ok_hand: screenless budget killer combo DAP/Amp :ok_hand:
My walnut FINALLY arrived today. The box included the walnut and a usb cable. The walnut seems to be made well. No connector issues or weird noises or anything. Only 3-4 hours of burn-in so far. It's still early, but it sounds nice... lively. The noise floor has quieted down already, so that's...- jpciii

Head Spinning please help- sub £100 headphones
Philips SHP-9500 are very very big-head friendly as far as comfort goes. Sound-wise, I think they check all the boxes you mention. Some say they don't have enough bass, others describe them as bright. When I read these opinions, I wonder if it's more a matter of people being used to bass-heavy...- jpciii

Seems the forum software prohibits me. Inserting an image gives me this: "Your account does not have the required permissions to access this page." Hosting it myself is only showing a link, atm. Maybe a moderator can fix it...- jpciii

First post - new to the site. I've been into Hi-Fi and vintage audio for a long time... refurbishing vintage speakers, etc. I'm starting to get into headphones a little bit. I mostly plug into 2 channel receivers/amps listening to CD and Vinyl. I'm kinda picky about sound quality, so I've never...- jpciii
