    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

So basically for the impedance adapter, it's just to add more load to drive? (Since the U12 is quite a sensitive IEM that can run on low gain sources )

Is it true that Empire Ears is going to include ADEL in their iems?

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Managed to try the new APEX modules. I have the original ADEL S1 modules with my U12s.    Impressions:   Overall, the new modules are slightly smaller than the original ADEL S1 modules, so they slide in better.   Sound wise, it makes the soundstage much wider, and spaces the sounds apart...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

I own a dp x1 and I can say that the single ended as well as the balanced output falls short in terms of spatial imaging and sonic tightness...but when paired with the RSA Protector Amp, all of those issues are solved. (The balanced output)

A Full Review: Ray Samuels Audio - The Protector

Ok, after using the Protector's balanced output with my DP X1, I would dare to say that 1. The resolution is definitely better than the dpx1's default balanced output. 2. The spatial imaging and transparency rivals that of the AK380's.

Yeah I'm interested to find out too. Are there better amps out there already? The earlier posts are all from 2010 to 2012... my goodness.

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Agreed. Sound quality wise, its there, but it sounds quite thin and lacks musicality and energy on Single Ended mode. I'm currently using balanced with DSP off, and I feel that its much richer and fuller sounding than the DP-X1 + Mojo combo. The DP-X1 + mojo combo has a more textured sound...

Try turning DSP off. Leaving DSP turned on makes it sound less articulate and detailed, in my opinion. With crappy earphones, it will seem less detailed, but with good IEMs, you'll be able to hear more layers.

Must DSP be turned on for this for this imaging enhancing feature to be in effect? or is this independent of whether DSP is on or off?

yes, I believe so. only for the native player. DSP can either be turned on or off. When you turn on your DP-X1 for the first time, it is set to ON by default I think.

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

The longest that I've used my DP-X1 was for 6-7 hours straight (I was doing work on my laptop, whilst enjoying music), on the regular Balanced Mode. (DSP off). By then, I had around 35%-30% battery left.   I'm using the firmware that I bought it at, and have not upgraded my firmware. Its...

Yeah I agree. I feel that the loss of detail comes when the piece of detail that you are looking at lies in that "spread" that you've mentioned. When the sound tightens, the sound artefacts found in that particular region becomes less apparent, hence the impression that there is a loss of...

World's first portable Hybrid Valve Headphone Amplifier (with a footprint smaller than most cellphones).

Maybe an option for Balanced Line out would be good too. It's a pity to have the high res USB- input option but having only Single Ended as the only output option.  Either way, it looks like a great product!

World's first portable Hybrid Valve Headphone Amplifier (with a footprint smaller than most cellphones).

I have a friend who owns this, but its quite sad that they don't have any support for balanced output though. It would be great if there were an option for balanced output. This would be particularly useful for IEMs that use balanced cables and also headphones that use balanced cables. A 2.5mm...
