Ooops, i probably overlooked displayed status "EXT ERR" with DDC connection yesterday. Does it mean, that external clock cannot be managed by DDC?

@Mango: the same setup as Deleeh described ie. Pi4 Volumio -> USB -> Pisces2 -> I2S -> Gustard. Configuration: PCM NOS:ON, DSS NOS:ON, Clock: External. I assume PCM filter is bypassed here (there is FAST). BTW it works flawlessly no changes with I2S pins.

I have decided to buy Gustard R26 based on reviews and experience of the owners. BTW I tried fuse switching (Gustard) in Pegasus and it was so bright and weird sound. I was thinking of NOS CCCP fuses.

Frankly, I would like to prevent tubes in DAC because of my tube setup in preamp+monos (7 tubes per channel :)).

I am thinking of getting a slightly better R2R DAC than my Pegasus but with limited budget (~1500$) hence second hand. I am looking for Gustard R26 and AGD R8(2021). Any tips or experience with DACs that would beat Pegasus? Thank you.

I plugged Pisces 2 to Pegasus and their synergy is really exemplary 😊! Music is very natural with the combo. I immediately noticed better space, especially depth in my small room. Very satisfied. Tube rolling is also more exciting with DDC.

I would definitely choose Pegasus at least from manufacture point of view. I owned Schiit Freya, terrible design and undersided parts. Never more.

The length 0,5m is sufficient. AES/EBU sounds a little bit darker with less details in my system. I prefer digi coax at this moment because Auralic doesn't have I2S. I read a lot of reviews and forums about I2S benefits. Anyway, I can try all inputs if DDC will be game changer.

I decided to buy DDC instead of streamer and PISCES 2 is on its way to my Pegasus. I am planning to connect them via I2S. Can I ask you to recommend good (pin compatible) I2S cable, please? Price around 50$ or based on recommendation :). Thank you!

Frankly, Holo Red looks good from versatile point of view, either streamer or DDC. That's my reason to choose Holo instead of Mano Ultra3 (second hand). I can try cheaper streamer i.e. Rpi4 + Holo DDC with better result than Mano. I can save money by Auralic selling :).

Does the Red have signature like "dark", "bright" in system based on user experience? I understand dependance on respective setup. Anyway, I am looking for "neutral"/ accurate streamer for my setup because it is close to musical side now (powered by tubes). Thank you for sharing.
