Ah, OK ... I will have to research the benefits of using a pre-amp such as the ADI-2. My typical setup (once I am back to my old desk/house) is a 5.1 surround sound so I don't think it would work since the ADI-2 is only two channels, right?

Sorry, I edited my post to mention passive speakers. I think if I use active speakers I can use the ADI-2 as a DAC (and EQ?) but I'm wondering if I can also use the ADI-2 amplifier to power the speakers.

Is this DAC/AMP/DSP still worth buying or is there anything better in the price-range? I've seen a few of these on eBay for under $800 which doesn't seem too bad when you compare buying these devices separately.

Sorry, I should have explained my devices. I'm using the Creative BT-W5 on my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) with Apple Music and the Qudelix 5K (connected to DT-1990s).

Sorry, but I have another question... I'm using the BT-W5 which shows support for 'aptX High Quality' with 24 bit and up-to 96 kHz. However, when I connect it to the Qudelix 5K it only shows 48 kHz. I've made sure that the BT-W5 is using 'High Quality' (using the Creative app).
