Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I think I get you. Thanks for the input. Is it a trade-off between loss of isolation and pneumatic pressure relief? I've been doing reading on this subject for quite some time. Do you know much about air pressure is affected by the ADEL module considering the eustachian tube? In my...- JJHo

I suspect isolation would drop too, great point. If pneumatic pressure relief is what one is after then the gaping hole should be best. The ADEL module seems to be a controlled leak then.- JJHo

Would removing the ADEL module allow the maximum amount of pneumatic pressure to be absorbed from the eardrum?- JJHo

Hi All, Did I miss the SpreeCast? I would still love to understand the science of the ADEL module. Will evidence be shown to us during the SpreeCast?- JJHo

Thanks for replying Canyon Runner. With the ADEL module in play the resonance then gets lower in frequency, correct? Doesn't that mean there will be a frequency peak somewhere in the bass or midbass region?- JJHo

I didn't quite catch what this gent had to drive home? Is the ADEL module helping alter the resonance of the ear canal?- JJHo

Hello Everyone, My apologies for disappearing for a while. My travel schedule has been monotonous and unrelenting for the last two weeks. Software development has its perks but sometimes people want the world from a program that they don't understand. Anyway, I am back fora bit and...- JJHo

Sweet offer. Thank you Canyon Runner. I don't seem to be the only who doesn't understand the forces of what is going on with the ADEL module. Do you think Mr. Ambrose would join us here on the forum?- JJHo

ericr, Thank you for the link. Do you understand what's written there? To me, the acoustic reflex wouldn't be a concern with SPLs used for IEMs. I could be 100% wrong with my assumption though. Interesting topic! Thank you again for educating me.- JJHo

Brooko, I appreciate how you are taking your time to help me better understand the ADEL technology. Thank you! When you seal the hole, where the ADEL module was, does the bass increase considerably? A few days ago someone posted frequency response curves from different settings using...- JJHo

Hi Brooko, Do you own other 6 balanced-armature IEMs? If so, are they as sensitive as the U6? Maybe the armature configuration in the U6 makes for a more sensitive IEM. I remember hearing in one video that the 64 Audio team said something about a defense mechanism to protect the...- JJHo

Is the perception of sound quieter because pneumatic pressure is leaking through the ADEL module? By removing the module one would still perceive quieter sound because, again, pneumatic pressure would be escaping. iKE1985, would you mind explaining this sentence to me: "ADEL relives...- JJHo
