    The Basshead Club

Chill out y'all I self-censored my post to express my frustration. I may have to just buy a speaker system to get that "in da club" BASS. Meanwhile I've had three days with the XB700. Day 1 it sounded great. Day 2 I thought it sounded harsh and annoying. And Day 3 I'm really enjoying it again...

I want my bass to sound like a normal screw**** subwoofer. If subwoofers can get it done, then a headphone should be able to get it done.

    Sony XB700 vs Audio-Technica Pro700 MK II?

You didn't mention a budget. If you can afford it the D2000 and the Pro 900 are the most commonly recommended headphones. I got the XB700 today and so far I'm liking it. It gives rumble bass as opposed to impact bass which is what the XB500 will give you. I'm just curious btw, how does the...

I just got XB700s. It's great for those who want a rumble from their bass and not a muddy BOOM BOOM that overwhelms everything.

(Noob) Upgrading from Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset to Sony XB500 with onboard card.

The XB700 is significantly harder to drive than the XB500, I max out my laptop volume sometimes when I want it really in my face. Would probably benefit from an AMP. I've been testing the XB700 for about two hours and I think I can definitively say it is FAR BETTER than the XB500. If you are...

(Noob) Upgrading from Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset to Sony XB500 with onboard card.

I don't have my XB500s anymore so I can't be fully objective, that is, this review may be a placebo. But I believe: 1) The sound stage is a little (but noticeably) bigger. 2) The vocals and instruments are more clear. 3) The bass doesn't overwhelm and pound as much as XB500. This may be a...

(Noob) Upgrading from Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset to Sony XB500 with onboard card.

My XB700 arrived today. I will give my initial impressions and compare it to the other headphones I have owned (the XB500, the JVC HARX900, Koss KE29).

(Noob) Upgrading from Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset to Sony XB500 with onboard card.

The XB500s have their fair share of problems, but are you implying the JVC HARX900 is better than the XB500? The HARX900 is the crappiest headphone I have ever used and I would any day of the week spend $10 on KOSS KE29 IEMs than the 50 bucks I spent on that crap. It just sounds plain bad. And...

    The SchmackDown (Shure SRH750DJ v. Shure SRH840)

I feel like in the audiophile community "neutral" and "analytical" are excuses for bass that has no impact or rumble whatsoever. If you've ever listened to a live bass guitar as I'm sure you have, it has rumble, and a kick drum has impact. With neutral sounding headphones, you can hear the...

    Headphones for vocal trance (<$150)

I listen to trance in general, not just the vocal kind, and I went with the XB700. I'm not sure Ultrasones have enough bass for me.

Went with the XB700s. Given my inability to try out headphones before I buy, I decided to play it safe with a headphone that has a known level of sound than buy a SRH750DJ or HFI-580 and hope that it will be better than the XB500s that I had and returned.

    The Basshead Club

I don't know what the difference is between the two, but to quote another one of my posts in this forum Whatever headphone gets that done within my $150 budget is what I want. The XB500 have plenty of bass but the highs are not clear or loud enough. I've tried some headphones described...

Hey morbidtoaster, how would you compare your pro dj1s to the xb700? I'm very close to pulling the trigger for $80 XB700 but I still have Ultrasone in the back of my mind....

    The Basshead Club

I've read literally every thread on this web site on the matter. And I've not read many good things about the pro700mk2s. Right now the DJ1s are on amazon for a the really good price of $139. It's either that, or the XB700, at this point. Only thing stopping me is whether the DJ1s/HFI-580s...
