[FYI] Basic Guide to In-Ear-Canalphones (rev.4)
Apple discontinued their In-Ear headphones in 2018. Also, I've tried them, and I really don't think they go far enough into the ear to quality as IEMs. As a result, they pop out of your years very easily.- JFraser

Why Are Tower Speakers Often Sold Individually?
I've been looking around for a good budget set of tower speakers and I've noticed that frequently, they're sold as singles instead of pairs. Yet, in some cases, a better pair from the same company will be sold for the same price as a couple of lesser speakers that are sold individually. Is...- JFraser

Budget Home Theater Speakers: Floorstanding/Tower vs Bookshelf
Something I'm curious about though, is RMS power. I keep seeing that, and I've looked around for an answer, but I haven't found anything that really tells me what it is. Is it how much power the speaker can actually use? Or the average amount of power it'll use or something like that?- JFraser

Budget Home Theater Speakers: Floorstanding/Tower vs Bookshelf
That's a lot of great information! Alright, so 35 watts is really all I need, so I guess a 40 watt amp would be fine for those speakers, let alone an 80-watt amp. That makes my wallet feel a little better, both in terms of the amplifier cost and the electric bill. I'll check out those Dayton... -
Budget Home Theater Speakers: Floorstanding/Tower vs Bookshelf
Yeah, I'd like to have separate right and left channels. Though, I guess if it turns out that the new TV's speakers are good enough, I guess I won't buy the extra speakers. But I figure that if I'm going to spend $300 on a speaker bar, I might as well spend around $100-$200 more to get a better... -
Budget Home Theater Speakers: Floorstanding/Tower vs Bookshelf
Hi folks, I'm going to be buying a new TV because my current one is one the way out. I've heard that a lot of people go with soundbars these days because the newer TVs have really crappy speaker - so bad that even people who aren't audiophiles will notice how bad they sound. But I don't know if...- JFraser

Amplifier vs Receiver Decision
Okay. I've read reviews of both brands, and I've read that Lepai's amplifiers tend to produce sound that is muddy or overly distorted. That's why I'm leaning towards Pyle. Pyle amplifiers have a lot of good reviews while those made by Lepai don't. -
Amplifier vs Receiver Decision
I'm plugging an LG T.V. into it. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the speakers. All I know is that they use about 40-50 watts at a suitable volume, they're made by Polk Audio and they're probably 10-15 years old. I looked all around, but they don't have any specifications on them. -
Amplifier vs Receiver Decision
I finally got my family's old Polk Audio speakers working with a receiver I found in the basement. However, I'm only able to get it to work in mono because the left audio outputs don't work. The receiver is an older Onkyo receiver. I'm not sure, but I think the speakers and the receiver are from...- JFraser

Sound Blaster USB Sound Card: X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro vs E1
I'm looking for a USB sound card for use for music and games. I've narrowed it down to two, both of the Sound Blaster brand: X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro and the E1. I'll only need stereo output, which is why I think I would probably be fine with the E1, except that it's an amplifier instead of a...- JFraser

Sound Blaster: E1 vs X-Fi Go Pro
I was interested in the Sound Blaster E1, but I noticed that it's specifically an amplifier. I don't really think I need an amplifier. I just want an external USB sound card so I can get better audio for music and games. Is the E1 just an amplifier, or does it also have a DAC? Does it take...- JFraser

They must have changed it in the past 2-3 years. According to this YouTube video, it's impedance is 300 ohms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8SrV1a6IYg- JFraser
