HD 600 vs HD 650
I prefer the 600 to 650 w/Zu Mobius. Sounds more natural and scales great with equipment. The bass always felt a bit bloated for me on the 650.- jetstream

Grado PS500s (new Grado's)
Salad bowls expand the sound stage a bit, but at the expense of over all impact and sound in general. In my opinion they defeat the purpose of getting a Grado (sound) to begin with. They came off in about 5 minutes. Not even close. These cans sound right (very well balanced with impact) with...- jetstream

Grado 325is and PS500
I've got about 25 hours on my PS500s and compared to my recently purchased 225is which I love, they are definately a more dynamic pair of cans. More Bass, Better balance throughout the audio spectrum and more spatial in overall sound. Compared to my RS1s that I had a few years ago, they are...- jetstream

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Look, synergy is critical with cans. Having owned Ed9, W5000, HD650 Zu Mobius, and RS1. My new favorite with my, YES Singlepower MPX3 Slam Plitron with various tube sets is the HD 600. It is dynamic, neutral and fun all at the same time. People constantly give opinions on headphones here with...- jetstream

*Confirmed* Grado PS1000 is coming!
I never put my phones in their box unless I'm moving them somewhere or storing them. They are on stands or a hanger to be used daily. Same with my collection of guitars.- jetstream

These phones have an uncanny ability to separate instruments and layers inside various recordings. You hear details and layers that other phones seem to miss. I'm impressed with the detail, especially after living with ATH-W5000 for many months.- jetstream

headphones for jazz
Any high-end phone with a good quality recording will generally sound really good. It's just a question of flavor. For me personally, I like to have lots of flavors to pick from. And yes sources and amps will effect the sound sometimes dramatically. It always surprises me how many finite...- jetstream
