Quick impressions of 4th gen ipod vs Karma

The Karma size for me is perfect, I would only want it a bit smaller, but its fine for me. It fits nicely in my pocket, the EQ is great, RioDJ is more useful than I thought, and the GUI is so awesome to use. Glad I bought the player. -jet

Actually, I believe Austin over at dapreview.com is making a battery pack for several daps, including the iPod 3g, iRiver, Dell DJ, Rio Karma, etc. Though I believe he is waiting for some more pieces to come in.

    DAP picking troubles

It does indeed have the ebst eq, it has a 5 band parametric eq, if that means anything to you .... What it does is it ahs 5 sliders, which you can move, to change the sound, you can also change the width and center that this sliders are on, thus creating an even broader sound. I'm sure...

whats the big deal with the iPod?

While the new iPod is now, by my standards, is an acceptable DAP, I still like my Karma better, though that is just ME. A conversation with my friend went like this: Him: What is that. Me: An mp3 player Him: Oooo, and you just have Master of Puppets on it? Me: No, I have all my music on it...

    Hacking Windows Media PVP?

I don't know if its possible, but you could always buy a Portable Media player (PMP) from iRiver which has support for a ton of codecs, much more than the windows edition (PMC). Though I don't know too much, maybe someone else can give a better answer.

    The iPod Box

Rio Karma is in a blister pack. But Rio does there best to organzie it as best as they could. And for a lister pack, they do a fairly good job, probably the best packaging I have seen with that stuff. Though I do love the packaging of the iPod. It really makes it a luxury item almost. Thoigh I...

Which DAP is the best sounding one?

The Rio Karma all the way, put its awesome battery life with OGG (Can get excellent sound quality), an amp, and good headphones, and your set. Go Karma all the way.

    Picture of iPod 4G

Don't expect Apple to give a firmware upgrade for the older players, or at least one that includes the new iPod features, they didn't do it with the other 3g features.

    Picture of iPod 4G

The Karma, and various other DAP's do already do these features that the iPod has. I won't be buying one, but I am still disappointed with the new iPod. As for a color screen, I could care less about, unless you get an expensive screen, in the sunlight, it would be useless. I will continue using...

Best sounding DAP at least 20 gigs in size?

A look at amazon got me these options Of course, you need an open PCI slot to put it in. Ther ight be other options, but this is what I know of. Look at number 9 on that list and for only 24 bucks you can have 2 usb 2.0 slots in your computer. Just pop the card in and your set. Enjoy!
