Koss Portapro Thread
Awesome congrats! I have noticed the power handling getting better with burn in. I think I may be around 50hrs now, and they now get as loud as I am comfortable with on 95% of tracks without distorting. (running out of xmax) That's with autoEQ, too. They will just get better with time!- jesh462

Koss Portapro Thread
Oh, I would just like to add for those wondering: It is completely feasible to paste a ModMic onto the side of the Parts Express headband, and no, it doesn't make them weigh too much. I was worried there wouldn't be enough surface area, but it works fine! Also, has anyone listened to the...- jesh462

Koss Portapro Thread
Hello Koss fans, Thank you for bothering to type enough into the internet to convince me to try a pair. I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-A990z headphones with Brainwavz hybrid pads hooked up to a Modi/Loki/Magni stack. The ATs are great for high fidelity recordings and well produced music...- jesh462

Damping Mechanical Energy Distortion of STAX and other phones with SORBOTHANE and other materials.
When I first saw this thread, this was my reaction. Sorbothane is awesome, and I have used it in audio projects before. HOWEVER It is only a de-coupler. It has excellent viscoelastic properties, but that does not make it a constrained layer damper. Using a purpose-built product is going to have...- jesh462

super comfy iem
Little update - I settled on the TRN V30. While I'm fine with the sound, I feel like none of the tips included are comfortable for me, do to the deeper insertion depth. Any suggestions on tips for these? I've tried searching myself, but I can't find specs on the nozzle size and such on these...- jesh462

super comfy iem
Thank you! This is nearly exactly what I was looking for - the most comfort possible without going fully custom. Sealed BA (I think) is not a problem for me, as long as they are not bass-thin. If the bass is accurate enough, that's OK with me. I'm excited about these now. Kraegorn - thank you...- jesh462

super comfy iem
Hello baskingshark, Thank you for your very detailed reply. I will definitely consider both IEMs. My music taste is wildly varied, and that's why I didn't mention it. As such, the artificial sound on the **** with stringed and wind instruments is definitely a drawback, but a completely acceptable...- jesh462

super comfy iem
Looking for an IEM that is comfortable enough to fall asleep in, wake up hours later, and not experience pain with. Ideally, this would work for both sleeping on my side as well as my back. However, I do spend the most time sleeping on my back, so that may be good enough. After comfort, my...- jesh462

Thanks! I kind of gave up on laying down on my side with the iem in but I think at this point it's between the DT3 and the Hifiman re-300h. Both are plenty under what I have to spend but I don't want to go super saiyan when I lose them or they get stolen.- jesh462

IEM - $120 USD budget, COMFORT, easy listening
Great info guys, thank you. I have tried researching myself to find more IEMs that may fit my needs, but everything that may be a match for sound quality seems to have quality control issues. I don't think that will be a problem with the Shures. I looked up authorized dealers and there are like...- jesh462

Hey guys, what would you rate the KZ DT3 in terms of sound but also comfort, especially laying on your side? How about versus the TTPOD T1-E?- jesh462
