  **** thats awfull, I think as you have read in this thread its due to the plastics not being filed down properly in the hinges. Seems a manufacturing fault. I dont have such issues with mine. though.  I suggest you try the H9 and see if you like that. NOt sure about the NC for that but its...

Yup i use them wired and amped for best sound - and they sound good amped !!!

I do agree the 799 price tag is a little hard to swallow . I think its too steep. Not sure how much more they could have improved over the original which to me is awesome. I can see that battery life is way down. not sure why ?

  I completely agree here i guess we all have different ears !?! but the one word i can use to describe Bose is VEILED !  how can the soundstage be bigger then the Sonys ? Well to each his own. But definately for me soundstage is wider than the bose. 

Yes and I didn't like sacrificing too much clarity and soundstage . qc 35s sacrifice too much of that for me

Actually funny you say this cause im a basshead and i get plenty of it when i amp it with my Vorzamp duo basshead amp :) . I get the great soundstage and a really hard hitting low end. And a true basshead who loves the low end will know you need a good amp and wired to get the best out of any...

Hey D, i love my Z5s too and i work with senns (as in my job allows me closer, just havent got round to do a strict comparison ) and i own the Sony mdr 1000xs and i can say you would like it :)  U just need to try it i tell ya :)
