Since my Grados were repaired by Grado (they were indeed defective), I have taken them off my head only to wash my hair. (Slight exaggeration only.) My current experience with them is now fully aligned with others on Head-Fi. I am now easily able to differentiate between good and bad recordings...- jeffphus

Based in the reviews I read here I purchased the SR80i last July 2012. I thought they were way to bright, or as someone else said "ice picks" in the ears. I thought perhaps I needed an amp - and over the course of several months used Fiio E6, Fiio E17, and JDS O2. No improvement! I continued...- jeffphus

Vox player for OSX
I downloaded the Vox music player to my iMac today. I set the Vox player to output at an upsampled rate of 96KHz and set the iMac to output the 96KHz signal through the optical output to an MSB DAC feeding a JDS labs O2 amp feeding VModa M80s. I've listened to MP3 cuts from Adele's 21...- jeffphus

Just got the O2 two days ago. Have it paired with VModa M80s. Sourcing from iPhone with LOD Cable Jive. This is easily the best sound I have obtained since I started with this sound path last year. As soon as I can figure out how to post a profile I will post more details.- jeffphus
