Reply to review by 'jeffphus' on item 'Grado SR325e'

A few months ago I upgraded from the SR80i to the SR325e. I love the SR80i but thought the SR325e might present the music even better. So, when I got the new phones, I first listened to a song on the 80s. Then I plugged in the 325e and listened to the same song. I was speechless because it took...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Mahler's Sixth Symphony/San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Michael Tilson Thomas conducting. Recorded Live - amazing sound through Grado SR80i's.

Since my Grados were repaired by Grado (they were indeed defective), I have taken them off my head only to wash my hair. (Slight exaggeration only.) My current experience with them is now fully aligned with others on Head-Fi. I am now easily able to differentiate between good and bad recordings...

Thanks to all for the responses. Takato14: Very surprised about your characterization of the O2 as anything other than flat as that as been the predominant opinion expressed on this website. But I defer to your opinion as you obviously have had much more experience than I. Fuzzyash: I listen to...

Review by 'jeffphus' on item 'Grado SR80i Headphones'

Based in the reviews I read here I purchased the SR80i last July 2012. I thought they were way to bright, or as someone else said "ice picks" in the ears. I thought perhaps I needed an amp - and over the course of several months used Fiio E6, Fiio E17, and JDS O2. No improvement! I continued...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Prokofiev Symphony # 5.  Mariss Jansons: Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra on Chandos.   i love everything about the sound of this recording: soundstage, highs, lows, mids, solo instrument sounds, masses of strings, and the music itself.  This is easily one of my favorite pieces of classical...

    Vox player for OSX

I downloaded the Vox music player to my iMac today.  I set the Vox player to output at an upsampled rate of 96KHz and set the iMac to output the 96KHz signal through the optical output to an MSB DAC feeding a JDS labs O2 amp feeding VModa M80s.   I've listened to MP3 cuts from Adele's 21...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Diana Krall: From This Moment On.  I've been listening through the JDS O2 and VModa M80 at home and the O2 and the original Sennheiser PX100 when driving.  The headphones sound vastly different but excellent in their own ways.  The big band on From This Moment On sounds phenomenal and the O2's...

Review: JDS Labs O2 (Black edition) + O2/ODAC discussion

Just got the O2 two days ago.  Have it paired with VModa M80s.  Sourcing from iPhone with LOD Cable Jive.   This is easily the best sound I have obtained since I started with this sound path last year.    As soon as I can figure out how to post a profile I will post more details.
