Before loading up my DAP, I've always ran some sort of audio volume limiting program against the files. At one time I ran normalize (From Dr. tag) and now "Match" (from goldwave) to get the audio volumes close enough that I'm not adjusting volumes between songs when allowing the player to...- Jeffie

Well long time use of earplugs affect custom molding for custom IEMs?
It wont buy you 2-3 years worth of foamies... (If you wear daily for sleeping) Nor the consistent noise reduction that custom plugs give you.- Jeffie

The only thing you have to remember with any custom earplug, is they are only good for about 2 years, before they start leaking badly. Betcha didnt know your ear's continue to grow your entire life, didya? Another thing to remember, is foamies for earplugs, dont have a great lifespan...- Jeffie

Microphonics is the word used to describe sound which is transmitted through the headphone cable. The E2's are very good at alleviating microphonics, the E5's are horrible.- Jeffie

Shure E5c + custom molding review
Custom Ear Molds will have to be redone about every 2 years. Your ears contiue to grow for your entire life. So after a couple of years, your custom ear molds will start leaking.- Jeffie

How long does Shure repair take?
