Actually, looking over the review, Wes, even qualifies his statement in terms of what he's not heard or doesn't have interest in and stresses to each his own.

Of course a few minutes at a meet are not sufficient to fully assess a set of cans. I don't think Wes would suggest anything of the sort. But, my point is that one can't assume somebody has or has not heard particular cans. Personally, I found the R10s painfully bright after just a few minutes...

Below are some pics of Wes from two different Head-Fi meets--one shouldn't presume to know what people have or have not heard.

Beagle - I think what Yikes pointed out makes sense. If you read the reviews carefully, you'll catch plenty of info--sometimes subtles digs or not so subtle ones. Sometimes companies don't offer review samples for a variety of reasons. A bad review might hurt business; a good review could even...

    HD800 price speculations

I definitely do not see the 50% discount ever happening with the HD800s; a hand assembled item will not likely be discounted like something pumped out of a factory. When interest/orders wane, they'll just be hand assembled less often.

Orphan Works bill threatens artists' copyrights

Hi all - There's a bill coming before the Senate shortly that will threaten the copyright of visual artists (among others). I was thinking I might be able to reach many more people if I appealed to all of you here. Perhaps, those of you with blogs or friends with blogs can spread the word...

Body modification fans: Opinions on tattoo placement?

Why not "test" it by Photoshopping it in various positions on a photo of yourself to get a better idea of where it might work best. Make sure you have something of a known size in the photo so that the tattoo can be scaled properly. I agree with the above statement, BTW.

    PS Audio Noise Harvester

Patrick - If the difference is this significant (I did not find them to improve things much, if at all, in my system, which already employs a variety of power conditioning), I wonder if you may have some imbalances in your system that went unaddressed. After all, we're talking about the...

    PS Audio Noise Harvester

I've used them, but, am reluctant to put them back in my system. Because I have a dedicated line and already employ a variety of power conditioning, my electrical line is very quiet (I could not get the Noise Harvesters to light in my main room.) I could get them to light up if I plugged them...

    Tattoo picture help

I suggest you pick up Taschen's book on Gil Elvgren and see if there's anything in there you like. His work is the quintessential pin-up art.
