Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
I agree that these are pretty decent for 40 bucks or less, though to me they have moderately emphasized bass.... Nothing like a beats product, but as I tried to point out in my impressions... If you like a neutral balance (like you'd get in an Etymotic IEM), these will seem a lot bassier... If...- jcr159

Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
Make no mistake, I'm not knocking the bass reproduction... I think it is very solid, just emphasized.... Certainly nothing I would call bloated or one note, or sloppy. And they are easy to drive from a portable device with it distortion and plenty of volume for most. I don't regret my purchase...- jcr159

No worries! If anything, the Ety's are neutral/flat to a fault... Some really dislike the sound signature and vice versa. For me, I pick up detail that I miss in the nergy's, but I don't have the listening experience that a lot of others have here. I like my, now broken, Etymotic's and Grado...- jcr159

Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
Hope, haven't tried it.... Sorry for any confusion, but I actually feel these are too prominent in the bass. Hence the Etymotic hf3 comments. Those are the buds that I was replacing with these several posts back... That being said, the Etymotic sound definitely isn't for everyone either! Most...- jcr159

Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
So... Got the thread update email and figured it was time to drop back in with an update of my own. Coming from Etymotic headphones to these was a huge change in balance... To me these are bass heavy almost, so I guess I definitely have a preference for a neutral sound.... That being said, I...- jcr159

Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
Liking them so far, going to try and run them in overnight. The isolation SUCKS though! Ordered some comply isolation plus tips... We'll see. As I said, I'm coming from Etymotic hf3's which are true hearing protection so to speak... I believe their claims about sound level reduction. Others...- jcr159

Monster NCredible N-Ergy Impressions
sorry for bumping an ancient thread.... waiting on replacements for my Etymotic HF3's, and needed something temporary. Picked the N-ERGY's up from Wally World for $10... for that price, I'll keep them as backups... My question though, is about the N-Lite model.. I picked it up as...- jcr159

Noise isolating IEM alternative to Etymotic hf3
Quick search of the XBA-1 seemed like it wasn't available on Amazon except used, but I did see the XBAH1... They looked pretty different (1 armature vs. 2), but the pics and descriptions can be misleading on Amazon.. is the XBA-1 perhaps just out of stock? I'll go look up reviews on...- jcr159

Noise isolating IEM alternative to Etymotic hf3
Thanks for the reply, and the reminder to be safe while blocking out the world so to speak... As for the phone at the gym, I'm usually using to stream netflix or podcasts, though the recommendation to move to cheaper player does make some sense... Though I find that the headphone amp in...- jcr159

New Member Introductions thread
Looks like all the cool kids hang out here, so I'll pretend I fit in... I like my Grado SR-60's (now 18 years old), and may replace them someday when they give up the ghost with a better pair of Grado's... Love the sound. Elsewhere, I listen to Etymotic hf3's with my iPhone when I...- jcr159

Noise isolating IEM alternative to Etymotic hf3
New member, hi everyone! Hoping to get some advice, so here goes... So... I've been searching to no avail, and hope folks here can help point me in the right direction... I've had a pair of hf3's for about 2 years now, and recently the jack started flaking out... basically audio...- jcr159
