Last US producer of analog tape shuts its doors...

I hope we're ALL not discontinued like Audio Tape....my old band's trip to the recording studio is still on 7.5" reels our ex-sound guy keeps for his Tandberg deck....which he says is ailing....and can't find anyone to fix it!! There's nothing richer than audio tape; I hope Quantegy can pull...

    The "good old days"

I REMEMBER this issue! True story; I spent my one day of freedom on a one-day base pass from Air Guard Basic Training at Lackland AFB looking for SWTPC in San Antonio; (where they were based) never did find it! Had a great day riding around on the bus though....back in 1972. They had some...

thrawn86 is my son. Working on some testing equipment for all these. I have to return ~4 to work, and I'll probably keep a few. More details to come. I've heard $ figures from 50 to 100$ per tube, and even more for matched pairs.

TUBES SITES faq - add your fav's here

As an old ex-rocker (bassist) & tube amp technician I was thrilled to come across a box of quite a few new /unused RCA 6550's recently. (yes I got them legitimately) Apart from contacting Marshall or HiWatt, suggestions solicited on what would the best way to sell a few of them?

    probably stupid 9v rechargeable question

The CMOY circuit(s) I have seen courtesy of my son are pretty tolerant of variations in supply voltage within a range. You shouldn't agonize over a 9v versus 10v system --DC is DC from a supply standpoint, and 1v just won't matter in a hundred years. However, a stacked (18v) system if set up...
