Comment by 'jawks' on listing 'Beyerdynamic T1.2 600ohm'
Hi there, are these still for sale? Is your price negotiable? It would appear that used but very good to excellent condition pairs of the T1.2s have been selling on the used market for $400-500.- jawks

It’s funny. I actually was going to sell my teak Auteur (I also have the Verite open) and posted it here on Head-FI. Within a couple of hours I took down the listing and decided that I was going to keep my pair. I’m glad I made that decision!- jawks

Been doing the same with my Verite. It took me a while to get used to its sound after coming from the Auteur, but I like the immersive, holographic experience. I found that I preferred using it with the amp in my iFi iDSD Pro rather than my Decware CSP2 OTL amp (which I prefer for my Auteur).- jawks

I agree - I think tubes really bring out the best in the Auteur. I love listening to mine through my Decware CSP2+ OTL tube amp.- jawks

Yes, I was wondering if I would be giving up my Auteur upon acquiring the Verite. Like you, I think they offer different enough listening experiences so I'll be keeping both!- jawks

I'm still getting acquainted with its soundstage. It's quite different from that of the Auteur. I feel like the Auteur has a natural soundstage that's spread out nicely in front of you. The Verite feels more immediate and seems to envelop you in the sound.- jawks

ZMF Verite Open
So I did more dedicated listening this evening with my Verite alternating between the iDSD Pro and the CSP2. Oddly enough, the Verite sounded great with the CSP2 tonight, in contrast with how it sounded a couple of days ago. I can't explain why - treble was not as recessed as it was...- jawks

Yes, I've read and heard so much about the Glenn OTL and how it's supposed to be great with the ZMF line. I've never had a chance to hear one myself either. My Decware CSP2 works beautifully with my Auteur, which I understand is a more neutral headphone than the Verite, so I was a bit taken...- jawks

That sounds like sound advice, particularly given my recent experience pairing the Verite with the CSP2. Funny, because the reviews seem to suggest that OTL tube amps are well suited for the Verite.- jawks

Hey, thanks for the follow-up reply. I've been using the Verite pads. I haven't tried the Universe pads yet but have heard that these produce a warmer and less linear sound. I knew that the headphones would probably sound different through different amps but was surprised at how different the...- jawks

Thanks for the reply! I bought a gently used pair that has about 200 hours on it, so I figured it had already been burned in.- jawks

ZMF Verite Open
Hi everyone! I just received my silkwood Verite open over the weekend and am looking forward to joining in on some of these discussions! I haven't listened to them long enough to be able to make any confident impressions, but my initial thoughts were very positive. They are noticeably lighter...- jawks
