Alpha Prime- the best all around closed circumaural headphones for $800?

Title pretty much spells it out. Are the Alpha Primes the best all around closed full size for $800 or less? If not, why and what's better? As of now, this is what I'm planning to purchase but I figure it doesn't hurt to gather more information. BTW, portability is not an issue, nor is power...

Magni 2 uber, Vali, or Asgard 2 for use with Alpa Primes?

I would love to hear as many opinions about which of these folks would choose to drive a pair of Alpa Primes and why you would choose one over the others. Thanks!

    Upgrade from the Shure SRH440s

I would not describe them as fragile at all. I'm not overly careful with mine and I expect them to last a very long time. I don't hear any noise from the phones creaking when I am listening to them.

Help with choosing between Mad Dog Pro, Alpha Dog, and Alpha Prime?

I'm not personally familiar with the LCD 2, but isn't that an open headphone? Due to the office environment, I want to stick with closed phones. The treble issue on the AKG's is kind of a strange thing in that it only bothers me once in a while. Honestly, if they weren't so flat in the bass...

Help with choosing between Mad Dog Pro, Alpha Dog, and Alpha Prime?

In comparison to the other phones I have, I feel like it's not as sharp on the high end as the AKG's (which can be fatiguing to me) and it seems cleaner on the low end than the M50x. I like that the M50x has a bit more bass punch, but it's a little loose and muddy. Also, the Shure is just much...

    Upgrade from the Shure SRH440s

I too primarily use Shure SRH440's. I'm seriously considering going to a MrSpeakers Mad Dog Pro, Alpha Dog, or Alpha Prime. Can anyone compare the sound signatures of any or all of those to the 440? I realize the price differences are substantial.

Big ears, big head, looking for some good circumaurals

I also have a large head and I find the Shure SRH440 to be very comfortable using the 840 pads. I believe the 840 is the exact same construction and is still well within your budget. I have the ATH-M50x and find them just large enough but not as comfortable as the Shure's.

    M50x vs. SE215

I don't own a lot of different headphones but I actually do yen both of these. I honestly think the overall sound is close enough between them that your preference is mostly going to come down to which style of headphone you like more. I find over ear phones to be much more comfortable than in...

Help with choosing between Mad Dog Pro, Alpha Dog, and Alpha Prime?

Hello, This is my first post on Head-fi, although I've been reading here for quite some time. I am preparing to make some purchases to (hopefully) greatly improve my listening experience while working at my desk. This is a desk in a corporate office, not my home. Right now, I listen using...
