Shure 535 red edition is around the price of Dita Audio Answer iem. I will pick "Answer" IEM over 535 red anytime. Do audition Answer IEM if you can. Simply astonishing for me.    Edit: I stay in Singapore, so 535 are more expensive over here than other parts of the world

Yeap. The grado series earpads are all interchangeable to over ear earpads. So even if you get an on-ear model, u can buy their bigger earpads which is for their over-ear model and fit onto the on-ear model. Although there will be some sonic changes to it. :)

Thats usually the rule for headphones. :) But for IEMs they start to defer. Many multi BAs have extremely low impedance, while high sensitivity, which also makes it hard to drive. If plug directly to handphone, you might also hear hissing on top of not driving it to its fullest potential. :)

Reason why i said its not needed is becos idsd micro has a built-in "Ipurifier" and it also supposedly does a similar job to the iusb power. But i can't really remember if this was what it stated. U might want to contact IFI for more information regarding the ifi idsd micro

IUSB power is actually not needed for IFI IDSD micro. The improvement for sound quality is actually neglible if its even noticeable. Do try out the set if u can as YMMV with the IUSB power. Cheers!

Amplifiers are needed when you have a high impedence , low sensitivity cans. Without amplifiers for these type of cans, you might not be able to drive it to satisfying volumes. For high impedence, high sensitivity cans, you might be able to drive it to loud volumes, but you might be losing...
