Current best portable cassette player
fredpb, I bought the Sony WM-FX521 Walkman Digital Tuning AM/FM Stereo Cassette Player about a year ago from SonyStyle.com for $100.00USD with free shipping. I've seen it for $10.00-$15.00 cheaper around the Web though if you were interested. I wasn't completely blown away by it but I suppose it...- Io_Sono

Oh, sorry [so]hai®, I confused the World model with the Japanese model you ordered from Audio Cubes. My occasional insomnia must be taking it's toll, cause I assumed they were one and the same. Thanks METRON, & [so]hai® . . . for all your impute and info. Sony's D-NE1 definitely has a few features that I really like. I can't deny it's a beautiful well built player from one of the world's leading portable audio companies. However, I believe the iMP-550 is more suited towards playing...- Io_Sono

Hi All... I'm a newbie to this site as well as to modern portable audio. Although I've had a variety of walkmans many years ago, I haven't been passionately interested in them again until recently. I'm planning to purchase an MD player/recorder, HDD MP3 player, and even a new cassette...- Io_Sono
