With SSDs, you can sync without any issues in Rockbox. It is only with SD or micro SD cards that the files get corrupted. The only thing is that file transfer is slower in Rockbox than in OF.- Imod

Agreed. I don't think one sounds better than the other. They only sound different. I love the sound of both but prefer the sound of the 7th. And yes, I'm an audiophile...- Imod

I'm using a 2000mAh battery and it can last for about 8 hours I would say. Keep in mind that I listen to wav files only and keep the display "on" all the time.- Imod

Not with the Samsung 850EVO and Tarkan's latest version adapter. With the old 840, yes.- Imod

I don't encounter any heat issues. I've heard that when transferring large batches, msata drives tend to overheat. So when I transferred all my music on it, I didn't take any chances and I strapped the iPod to an ice pack with a rubber band. With that, the iPod didn't even come close to getting...- Imod

WOW! I didn't know we could do that! I had my music in different folders because of the 10000 file limit. Now, they're all in one folder. Thanks a lot:)- Imod

I don't use the database. I copy the music directly on the drive and use the "files" option. I used the database a long time ago and remember that it was taking too long (for me anyway) to load.- Imod

For those interested, I just built a 2TB iPod Classic 7G using a Samsung msata SSD pulled from a T5 external drive and coupled with Tarkan's latest adapter and a 3000mAh battery. I am using Rockbox for music listening and the original firmware for movie watching. I have over 970GB of music and...- Imod

If Sandisk ever produces the promised 1TB SDXC cards, will you go for it? 4TB would be nice :)- Imod

I tried that and could not make it work. The iPod would not recognize the cards through the SD to micro SD adapters. Apparently the Samsung T3 portatble SSD houses a 2TB msata chip and I thought that's what you used. Does anybody know if that 2TB msata chip would work in the iPod?- Imod
