Places to get a EMU 0404 USB
I paid $250.88 (~230 USD) shipped to my door from Steve's Music in Montreal. This included gst but not pst because it was bought outside of the province. The shipping only cost my $6.73 for express via purolator. I looked around a lot to try to find an american vendor. Most of them won't ship...- Ic3Floe

Places to get a EMU 0404 USB
I got tired of shopping for a online dealer from the US who would ship to Canada. In the end I figured that if I got busted for taxes/duty at the border I might as well buy from inside Canada. I ended up buying from http://www.stevesmusic.com/ . The card arrived quickly (3 days from order)...- Ic3Floe

USB DAC/AMP Combo
You might want to check out the Headphonia usb dac/amp. Some people on these forums have real issues with the company, but the product looks intriguing. Another option would be to get the highly regarded Emu 0404 usb. If you don't need a portable option this is probably one of your best bets...- Ic3Floe

K81dj Repair Parts?
Back in January I bought a pair of K81dj's off a head-fi'er from Vancouver. They worked great and I loved them for library usage. Unfortunately a few weeks ago I snapped one of the 3D swivel hinges. I would take photos of the break point but I misplaced the headphones when I moved houses a few...- Ic3Floe

Look for a pair of sealed, collapsible headphones for library usage on laptop.

Check out the Equation Audio RP-15MC. They are similar to the sony v6's but have gotten some great reviews. They are also fairly cheap. Check out this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=236104- Ic3Floe

EQUATION AUDIO EARTOOLS: REVIEW
There has been a ton of talk already about the RP-21 and the RP-15 but the 22X hasn't been getting much attention. I'm a little confused about the impressions that others have given about the 22X. The phrase "sweet listen" is a bit ambiguous. It sounds like the 22x is basically just the RP-21...- Ic3Floe

Search for a "transportable" DAC/Amp
I have two gripes about the indigo. It has no optical outputs so it would be no use if I wanted to upgrade to a better DAC down the line. Secondly, it required that I connect cables directly into my PC. I'm going to be using a docking station this year, because I take my tablet to class with me...- Ic3Floe

Search for a "transportable" DAC/Amp
I'm back! This is my first post in a long while. I got the itch again. I can clearly say that taking a hiatus from head-fi was a good thing. It allowed my wallet to grow without constantly being chopped at the knees by my habits. Yet here I am again. I need some advice. I am a university...- Ic3Floe

In New York City...
Back from dinner. Montebello was excellent. A tad pricier than us cheap canadians with our low dollar usually spend, but it was right worth it. Food was great (including free bread/bruschetta) and the service was prompt. It was a great meal. I'm hoping that more places than I originally...- Ic3Floe

Who would you like to meet??
I'm suprised that nobody has said this already, but my choice would be Churchill. I think that he was an true hero in his ideals, and I think it would be interesting to see what he has to say about the world at hand.- Ic3Floe

Ebay - the arson's best friend
Man, at my school, a couple of the more interesting teachers did an experiment using thermite. They placed it in a dried out planting pot (flower pot) suspended about a foot above a wooden plank. They ignited the thermite (lots of it) with some glycerine, then watched the show. It got so hot...- Ic3Floe
