Yes, it's true the first couple'a watts are the sweetest and we might be reasonably sure the hum was from full power.  I actually wouldn't mind upgrading the power supply at this price but I can't find much 411 about the 13DR7  drivers.  Must be a pretty cheap tube...

Hate to burst the bubble guys but analogue blows away digital. Of course it takes lots of money (reference table, step-up transformer, moving coil cartridge) for an audiophile-grade vinyl front end but there's no comparison. Digital processing is like a filter and strains out the natural timbre...

Hello Friends,                     I have two console amps, a 6v6 with around 7 wpc and an el84 with 15 wpc.  The 6v6 is dead quiet and I'd rather modify and use it for the k340s' instead of the el84 but after reading this post I'm surprised it may not have enough power.  Are we sure about...
