Sony IER-M9 impressions thread
M9 is definitely not on the same league as the HE-1 in any technical department but the overall sound signature is terrifically close.- HunqVux

Exactly what I feel about the HE-1! I wasn't satisfied with the HE-1 soundstage which is rather...narrow, I expected it to wow me by its wideness when in reality, it was a bit disapointed to be honest. Given that the lower end HD series don't sound that wide and that I was mostly impressed by...- HunqVux

I managed to have a demo session with the HE-1 and its overall sound signature is surprisingly similar to the M9! Such a bold claim! I get it, given that I only had 1 hour with the German Luxury but what had been stuck in my head me for the past week after saying goodbye to the HE-1 is how close...- HunqVux

@Virtu Fortuna Would you mind sharing more detailed impressions with your M9? You've been reviewing lots of IEMs, where would you put the M9 at your personal ranking list, could it even make it to the top 3 or 5 and the best source you've paired with your M9?- HunqVux

This is the first time I see a cable sleeve ungluing with the IER series. With that said, degraded earhooks that eventually become sticky and teared apart is almost a known fact with the IER series cables.- HunqVux

Do you consider doing a review of the M9 on Headfonia? If yes, I'm eager to see it, I've been reading Heafonia reviews for years and always wonder why there aren't any Sony signature reviews on the site.- HunqVux

Topping G5
Have anybody used Mojo/Mojo 2 as a Dac connected to the G5 as an amp? Could you give me some impressions on the combo? I heard that the Mojo 2 is excellent as used as a standalone Dac and since the amp section of the G5 is also exceptional within its category, is it worth it to have a bulky...- HunqVux

Rank the IEM's you've heard
Totally agree, the M9 is the best of its kind. It needs time and experience to be able to fully appreciate it but once you understand it, its vert hard to ignore the IEM, it doesn't excel in any particular area but it does everything so on point that others just sound a bit off here and there...- HunqVux

SONY IER-Z1R
I owned the U12T and would choose the M9 over the U12T any day/every time! The U12T sounds bland, thin, sibilance next to the M9. The M9 would absolutely destroy the U12T in details (later), imaging, separation, imaging, timbre, image broadness, bass size, cohesion, vocal weight and focus...- HunqVux

Actually, not only the Z1R but the whole IER series still remains competitive these days. I prefer the Z1R and the M9 to U12T, VE Phoenix, Tia Trio,...- HunqVux

This is exactly what I like about them, affordable and collectible. Thank for your super detailed impression! I really appreciate it. I see these peaks very often with monitors, the whole JH audio lineup have an unaturally boosted peaks at around 6k regions. Live engineers seem to rely on this...- HunqVux
