The headphone wiring is different for both sides: Right signal: Ring Left signal: Tip Ground is sleeve. So both connectors of the cable have signal for both sides, but the ear cup only connects to one of the signals: Right connects to ring, left to the tip. For pono wiring see my previous post:

willsw, did you try to fit the pads to the MJ2 in the meantime? I'm still looking for new pads.

I have to say I really love my MJ2. Although in the beginning I didn't like them very much, they are my go-to headphones. One reviewer mentioned, that he creates playlists for the MJ2, because not all music sounds good. I can second that. I find the MJ2 not that forgiving. But good recordings...

I will post some pictures once I have more time, probably in two weeks. Until then I will stick with my current solution of added foam.
