Massdrop Fostex TH-X00 Ebony impressions thread
I'm listening to mine on an Asgard 2, and really dig the sound. Punchy, well-extended bass. Controlled all over. Good stuff!- hsubox

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Mine (SN# 00008) are pretty darn black. My pictures are pretty close to what mine look like IRL. Not sure how the stock they used varied by SN#.- hsubox

My headphones are more than happy on my DIY Ikea stands. Keeps them off the table, and I don't think they look too bad.- hsubox

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I have the RS1i, and now also the TH-X00 Ebony. The RS1i is definitely more sparkly up high, which I prefer. The bass and sub-bass of the Fostex is wonderful, something I've not heard in a Grado (and I own 3 of them... none of which is a GS-1000 or PS-1000). I am planning on keeping both, since...- hsubox

I have heard, but cannot confirm, that putting g-cush pads on widens the sound stage, with few compromises to sound on the PS500.- hsubox

At home, I listen to the RS1 a lot more, but I travel a good bit, so when I'm on the road, I bring the PS500. I enjoy them both immensely, but in general prefer the RS1.- hsubox

Exactly why I keep the dynamic duo of RS1i and PS500! Both sides of the best coin. :)- hsubox

For classical stuff (mostly operatic for me), I also reach for my PS500. Sound stage isn't really wide, but I think the sound signature is pretty good for it. Warm and bassy enough to get timpanis and other big drums right, but at the same time bright enough for the high strings...- hsubox
