HiFiMan Susvara
Okay, got a chance to listen to the Pass Labs X150.8 and the Benchmark AHB2 at @llamaluv's place. Comparing them with the Studio Jr driving the susvara, the major difference appears in bass and treble. The speaker amps are a little warmer, with more punchy bass, while the Studio Jr has less...- hrq12345

HiFiMan Susvara
I haven't tried any speaker amp by myself yet, although I'm super interested in trying. I have a friend who has listened to both my Studio Jr and his speaker amp. He commented that the Jr is more transparent while the speaker amp might have more power and being more dynamic. I think either a...- hrq12345

I've never heard the ECZD, but have heard the ECBA. Studio Jr has more power to drive planar headphones.- hrq12345

Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone
Get a pair of AKG K1000 and you will know the largest soundstage on headphones. But yeah, probably K1000 is not regarded as standard headphone.- hrq12345

MICROZOTL2 Tube Headphone Amp and preamp: a breakthrough device
Ben from Mojo-Audio kindly lent me his illuminati for trial listening and I would like to post some impressions here. The illuminati is regarded as the ultimate linear power supply for MicroZOTL2. It is also owned by a lot of MZ2 owners here who tried out Ben's ultimate upgrade program. I...- hrq12345

MICROZOTL2 Tube Headphone Amp and preamp: a breakthrough device
I believe these are after market. Mine has the stock ones, which are black. LTA renewed some parts of the MZOTL2 some time late last year.- hrq12345

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Okay now I get what you guys are talking about. I think I probably remembered wrongly and the goldmund was just connecting to a digital source. Dave was just happened to be turned on at the same time. But I did listen to Dave itself drive Utopia and I still think it's good, just not that good...- hrq12345

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Just used the amp part of Goldmund. I don't think it was doing anything from the DAC part. Don't know why so many people are arguing about this.- hrq12345

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
You definitely need the 430HA. I just heard the DAVE+Utopia yesterday and DAVE itself can't drive Utopia very well, but is superb when paired with a decent amplifier. (The amp I heard was Goldmund Telos THA-2)- hrq12345
