Female Northern Chinese Songs?
Unless I'm badly mistaken, Faye Wong sings with a Beijing accent in her Mandarin songs. -
What is, in your opinion, the SMOOTHEST song you can think of?
The Ink Spots - Java Jive Actually most of Ink Spots' songs I've heard are on the smooth side. -
Should I get a pair of low-fi phones for background listening?
Quote: From reviews here fa-004 seems like a good choice. But as it's a closed phone I'm wondering if there's any issues with eardrum pressure during long use?- hotmath

Should I get a pair of low-fi phones for background listening?
Oh I don''t go as far as reviewers here do regarding 'critical listening' and perhaps I should have said 'focused/concentrated listening' instead of 'critical'. I understand it should be music that wows me but find some music (mostly orchestral works) hard to enjoy without feeling good about the...- hotmath

Should I get a pair of low-fi phones for background listening?
Yeah I've been wondering about my pair of SRH840 too, nowadays I pretty much only reach for them when I really need isolation. Perhaps that has something to do with the shure and my amp being both warm so they sound a bit muddy together. On the other hand, I'm rather happy with my K702, it's...- hotmath

Should I get a pair of low-fi phones for background listening?
I'll try to explain my situation here. I usually listen to my headphones for 3-4 hours each night. The first few hours are just background/casual listening, i.e. having the music on when I'm reading or working. Then I'll do a hour or so of critical listening before bed. The problem is...- hotmath

Beethoven: The Nine Symphonies ~ Which one should I buy?
I'm thinking about picking up a Vanska boxset but there are two versions on Amazon UK, one costs only £25.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beethoven-Symphonies-Nine-Minnesota-Orchestra/dp/B002M2JLPY/ The other costs more than twice as much... -
REVIEW: Purity Audio K.I.C.A.S. Caliente home headphone amp - updated with comments on regular KICAS
Have been listening to my new Caliente for a few hours now. Right out of the box it produces a smooth and captivating sound with impressive bass drive and mid-low frequency definition. Gave some much needed weight to my k702. The sound is fairly unfatiguing too. Also when my unit arrived...- hotmath

Compact superaural active noise canceling 'phones, are they any good?
Yep, I meant 'uncomfortable' when I said earbuds make me tired quickly. Thanks for letting me know smaller IEMs might be more comfortable than earbuds, though I'm still a bit wary of IEMs as I have this on and off ear/nose infection problem since I was young.- hotmath

Compact superaural active noise canceling 'phones, are they any good?
I'm thinking about getting a new portable headphone for daily commuting. Up 'til now I use Yuin Pk3 for that purpose. Although the Yuin sounds fantastic, I find them offer little isolation and my ear always get tired quickly from wearing earbuds (I imagine IEM are worse than earbuds in this...- hotmath

Musical Fidelity V-DAC Owners?
Out of sheer boredom (still awaiting on my amp and surge protector to arrive), I decide to dig up a RCA->minijack cable and connect my headphones directly to V-DAC. To my surprise V-DAC drove my phones really loud and I had turn down the volume in Foobar to around -20db to get a listenable...- hotmath

Musical Fidelity V-DAC Owners?
Just received my V-DAC yesterday. It sounds fantastic and I'd be so happy about my purchase if only the ac adapter would stop humming! Although the stock adapter is universally panned I haven't read anyone complaining about a humming issue. Anyway I've bought the unit from UK and returning...- hotmath
