Warwick Acoustics APERIO and BRAVURA
I can u I can understand why. Every second spend with my black Bravura is truly incredible - especially now I can also place the experience within the Aperio context. Good luck.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Ah - ok. I don‘t know of two 812 versions. Akg and Akg Pro are, I believe, one and the same.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
No. The 872 followed the 812. they look almost identical. The 872 are closed-back. They are tuned differently - but still conceived as a neutral set of headphones- targeting the music studios. Personally I don‘t experience that great a difference in detail retrieval as compared to the 240DF -...- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Impressive. This a powerful, thorough relationship with the 700 series. You know how I feel about the 872. they‘re a superb closed back AKG. For me the 812 are supreme. A more refined 240DF - no need for pad rolling either. Plenty of natural, impactful bass. I love my 812. always.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
I find they need driving well to truly show their quality - I haven‘t experienced the 701 - so cannot make any comparisons. My AKG journey was 712 to 812 to 872 and then the 240DF. We can‘t have (or even try) every headphone. I definately love what AKG have been doing.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Enjoy your 701. I found some secondhand 812 - three years ago (on ebay) - I got lucky and paid 440 euro. They are absolutely amazing. But seriously - the 240DF don‘t have anything to hide. And those I got for 70 euro - and another 70 euro for the ZMF pads. But enjoy the 701.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
I second this. My secondhand pair are astonishing. I like yaxi pads (on my 712 for example) - but I have some zmf (beyer) on the 240DF. Actually - the drivers and tuning are top class - the precision, clarity and separation are brilliant. On my Feliks Echo OTL they sound especially good.- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Sounds wonderful - I love the work of Jarret - I experienced him live - in one of his laT concerts - in Munich (my home city). What dac and amp do you currently use?- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Thanks for sharing and detailing your experiences. The truth is, for me, unless or immediate impressions are ‚no!‘ (because of this or that or a set of sonic qualities not matching our tastes - a longer term (minimum several weeks) and extensive listening period is required. As well as that...- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
I also regard the 812 as absolute totl headphone-ville. I got them before the HD800S (which I resisted for various reasons) - I lived with the HD650 and 600 for 7 odd years or so. Fully satisfied. I don't EQ the 812 - it's a personal thing - I love their upper end - all the extension and I...- headphonefranz

AKG K812 Pro, underrated?
Certainly, if we're using this or that balanced component (DAC / DAC-AMP) - it can be interesting to check SE against XLR/Balanced. My experience has been the energy/power/strength of the signal can be markedly different with the balanced mode. Sometimes the sonic quality is different to (not...- headphonefranz
