Sounds pretty much like bad news all around... the would mean pulling the batteries out every time and recharging them outside of the headphones and then replacing when in use. Crazy!!!

Agreed. More disturbing is the lack of maintaining the charge. Anyone else have a problem with that?

I've had the same experience. Mine stays charged for even less time and it's always shown it was recharging for a long time even if it was just off the base for a minute. Not sure what to do about the short playback time. I am going to buy some new rechargeable batteries to see if that helps...

Still no dropouts...

When I was doing my comparisons, it was in relation to my Stax setup, powered by a tube amp.  I've never owned any other Sennheiser headphones, so have no way of comparing the sound of the RS220 with the HD 650, or any other Sennheiser product.  I've listened to other dynamic headphones over...

Still no hum/whine, no dropouts, charge light takes forever to go out (but does eventually), and limited but acceptable range.  Sound is very good as reported before with movies, music, TV.  For me it works.  Pricey but worth it.  I might add I've never owned wireless headphones before these...

Four weeks and still no drop outs.  Limited range as reported earlier but excellent sound.  Perhaps repairing with the transmitter as suggested by others can help mitigate the dropouts that people have experienced.  Will keep you posted.
