Serious Question: How can DAC's have a SOUND SIGNATURE if they measure as transparent? Are that many confused?
Not everything that we perceived as sound can be measured and many of these DAC's with perfect measurement charts from LAB environments will yield different results when varying conditions will be involved. While some DAC's will sound identical, others can offer totally different experience.- hakunamakaka

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01
Hopefully it sounds better. I was not impressed with V30 against Cayin Ru7 which offered much better sound. Not sure if V30 could compete with bluetooth dongle like UP4. I'm doubtful, but if this product could push to mid-tier or dongle sound as Mojo/Ru7 this would be a no brainer for me- hakunamakaka

Post A Photograph Of Your Turntable
Well my goal is not to beat high-end tier sound of current turntables, but to make it enjoyable and good for my own preferences. I know it's achievable as when I owned TD166 with very lightweight toneram TP62 which many disregards I had great results using Ortofon NF 15 XE MKII cartridge. While...- hakunamakaka

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
I don't think Optical cable makes a different, just buy a generic one from your local store. Mojo2 handles noisy sources better than M1 in my experience, but if source is bad both of them benefits from optical input.- hakunamakaka

When properly set-up and taken care of at least sound-wise I don't think new TT are that much superior. Of-course you need to have a good starting point, but I remember when I got things going with TD166 It didn't shy from Rega P3 at all.- hakunamakaka

At the moment I'm leaning towards warmer cartridge which seems MP-110 to be the case. Once and if I feel the itch for an upgrade will look into 150 stylus. Closed the TT lid and will wait for new belt & MP-110 to arrive :)- hakunamakaka

Post A Photograph Of Your Turntable
Hey folks, I'm back to the vinyls as bought vintage TD160 and blew the dust of my tube phono-preamp. New tubes arrived and excitement was through the roof till I pressed play. Bold, in your face type of sound with lots of sibilance in treble and female vocals. This is not even close how I...- hakunamakaka

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Utopia and Mojo2 doesn't have the right synergy to me. Tried to love this portable combo and it doesn't click. On the other hand I enjoyed OG Mojo with Utopia much more, but lack of desktop mode was an annoyance. Some folks say EQ will get M2 sound like M1, but I can't get there. Closest...- hakunamakaka

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
With Utopia I usually go green/orange filters. Very nuanced differences, but presentation gets a bit warmer. This DAC is rotating in-out of my setups for many years now- hakunamakaka

Focal Utopia General Discussion
Yep Utopia's strengths are definitely not within bass, though it's quite decent and superior to something of what hd600/650 produces. I felt even that OG Clear bass was slightly better in bass than OG Utopia. Utopia 2 is stronger contender here, but even new release can't compete to...- hakunamakaka

Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread
No surprise here as D9200 is very remarkable headphone for someone whose interested in qualities it can offer. a smallish stage compared to openbacks with focus on left/right presentation, but nevertheless accurately placed. Add very good detail, timbre and superb bass which to me is close to...- hakunamakaka

Closed backs will always have an upper hand in bass due to sealed cups, but this comes at the cost of staging capabilities.- hakunamakaka
