Yes it's on a separate cable. There is slight noise/hiss in the background all the time.

I do not know how it can be described as a card with the cleanest signal when there is Xonar DS which is 4x cheaper and absolutely clean on background (no audible noise). and sonically (with OPA2134) almost on par with Essence.
