Audeze LCD-4z - Impressions Thread
I would also add that cable differences are worth discussing with Trevor from Norne audio. Even if he does have a financial interest. Guy- guyben

I second that. I acutally did not buy the Utopia as it strained my neck within 10 minutes of use. Nothing even close to that with the 4z. I can and do listen for hours with no pain or strain whatsoever. G- guyben

I can somehow relate to that. When I first put them on I did think they were too heavy. However as the weight distribution is excellent this quickly becomes a non issue. I regularly wear them for 2-3 hours straight at a time while working on the computer.- guyben

Well, really no experience with Meze, I'm a proud lcd4Z owner. What I can say is that Audeze customer service is top notch. Something to consider when paying extremely large funds for a headphone. Guy- guyben

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread
Just got my new Silvergrade S3 for Audeze lcd4Z. As was reiterated here many times before communication with Trevor has been nothing but exemplary. Re the cable - well this is just outstanding. Its as if a veil had been lifted and so much air is coming thru now. And we're talking about a totl...- guyben

Audeze LCD-4z - Impressions Thread
Well. I had to share. I got a Norne Audio Silvergrade S3 today for my LCD4z. Without heating up the already scalding hot debate of the effect cables have on SQ I would just say that I hear a very significant difference. Separation has gone up a notch, highs are more extended and soundstage seem...- guyben

Thanks everyone for your help. I managed to pull the connectors out with some force. My new Norne audio silvergrade s3 will arrive in a couple of days and I'll update what sonic impact it makes, if any. Guy- guyben

Hey guys, I've ordered a cable from Norne audio (silvergrade s3) and told my self that I'd like to check in advance how easy it is to unplug the stock cable from the headphones. Turns out, it's not. I actually cannot remove the stock cable from both sides. I'm pressing that little push button...- guyben

Is it possible to feel the diaphragm? I was listening to Tchaikovsky 4th symphony and felt a drum hit my ears very viscerally, more on the right ear. If this was a dynamic phone I'd say I felt the driver but as the diaphragm is on the nanoscale I doubt I felt that. Can it really be just the...- guyben

I s I second that. I have never heard significant sibilance on the 4z thru Hugo2. Even on really bad recordings. If anything I'd even rarely wish to have more energy in the upper register. I suspect it all really comes down to personal preferences and differences in ear anatomy and hearing. Guy- guyben

My god. I was listening to Mendelssohn piano trio #1 with the wonderful Martha Argerich in my car. When I got home I played it again on my LCD4Z and OH MY GOD. It was like before I was listening with glue inside my ears. The air, the space, the separation, the vibrating bass, the supremely...- guyben

I just wanted to reiterate what someone has already noticed before me. These do have a very long burn-in period. I've listened to mine now for an estimate of ~200 hours and there is still a definite improvement over the last couple of days. That's especially true in the low end where the bass...- guyben
