++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Can someone recommend headphones for my mom for $50 or less? She has a $50 amazon gift card, so it'll have to be from there. She just wants them for watching movies and tv shows.

    Looking for some new headphones

I've had a pair of audio technica A700s for almost a year now, but one of my step brothers used them and broke the right headphone off. I have it held on with duct tape at the moment, but it doesn't hold very well. I was thinking about either picking up another set, since I quite like these, or...

    ATH-AD700 or AKG K240

Hmm, ok. Could anyone recommend me any other good headphones for ~$100? I listen to music a lot, game a bit as well, but I'd rather have better sound listening to music than playing games. I have an Auzentech X-Fi Prelude sound card in my computer.

I've got a quick question to add to this, open or closed? They have both on amazon for about the same price. What are the pros/cons of both?

    ATH-AD700 or AKG K240

I'm looking for some new headphones for my computer to replace the headset I have now. I was recommended Audio Technica ATH-AD700s and AKG K240's. I saw in the sticky that they were both recommended for my price range ($70-$150). What are the differences between the two?
