Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I cancelled my day-one 8xx preorder earlier this week before the "preview reviews" hit. After watching both of them and reading the reviewers comments in the discussion section I have no regrets. For such a high profile exclusive launch Drop could have done a much better job here. They should...- gtb75

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
I don't believe any of my DCA/MrSpeakers headphones have ever came wrapped in cellophane. Just plain unassuming black boxes (which is fine by me).- gtb75

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I have spent over an hour on hold between Friday and today trying to get an answer on the post-warranty support question "straight from the horse's mouth" - rather than trying to decipher the shifting answers from Will at Drop. I don't see any reason why they would care where it was bought after...- gtb75

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I suspect preorders will pick up when some reviews finally hit the street. Normally when they launch an exclusive like this they have multiple reviews locked and loaded at day 0, but not this time - which is surprising. Assuming Drop nailed the tuning like I feel they did with my Ether CX (I...- gtb75

Aeon 2 closed Impressions and Discussion
Question for you Dan @mrspeakers ... I read your comments in here about the original Aeon 2 tuning versus the Ether CX. That being said, what are your thoughts on the new Aeon 2 Noire (closed) versus the CX? For what it's worth from a personal taste perspective, I run foam only tuning pads on my...- gtb75

I would assume Sennheiser could care less where you bought it from once the warranty expires. Most headphones are a pretty easy DIY fix anyway, but based on Will's comments it doesn't sound like Sennheiser will be leaving us "out in the cold" once the warranty expires. I know I have had no...- gtb75

Will responded to my post-warranty coverage question - as follows: "If you want to pay for out of warranty service, I'd start with Sennheiser service and go from there. Our arrangement with them is around warranty request coverage; I don't see any reason they would refuse paid service on the...- gtb75

With all due respect, I have no problem with the Drop or Head-Fi moderators deleting posts using swear words or posts that resort to name calling. Freedom of speech is one thing, but if you can't have a civilized discussion then you shouldn't be surprised if you get moderated. Drop and Head-Fi...- gtb75

FYI for anyone who doesn't have one yet, Amazon is currently selling the LP for $615.99 and has six of them used for under $500! I have had mine since late 2018 and still love it... Great amp - particularly at these prices.- gtb75

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
I have owned my M0 for over a year now and I just wanted to say that I have been really impressed with the support @Shanling has given the M0! Speaking in terms of how fast things move in this industry it has been out for a while, but you guys keep releasing regular updates which add features...- gtb75

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
FYI, the issue I was having with the volume down button sometimes raising the volume was resolved with the new firmware released today. I have yet to test out if 5GHz wireless performance has improved, but hopefully it has. This is all HiBy says about the update on their Facebook page: 1...- gtb75

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
I got my R5 a couple of days ago and finally got around to using it today. Has anyone else had issues with the volume down button being flaky? I would say about 50% of the time it actually raises the volume. Unrelated to the volume issue, I have experienced some of the Wi-Fi connectivity issues...- gtb75

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers
@mrspeakers Quick suggestion from an owner who travels with your headphones (ECX currently). Can you guys start adding straps or, at a minimum, a loop for carabiner (or cord/strap) to your cases? That way, even if the case is too big to put in a backpack, you can easily clip it on. I think this...- gtb75
