Schiit Lyr+ : Impressions Thread
Got my replacement Lyr+ yesterday, and there are definitely some differences. 1) The biggest one, I noticed the first defective amp ran really hot, hotter than my Asgard 2 which is saying something. New Lyr+ after 1 hour of use, 86F measured at the Schiit logo on top, 95F after almost 3hrs...- Grendelrt

Spdif HAT For RPI - Allo Digione, JustBoom, or Hifiberry DigiPro2
I needed USB for PC (gaming mostly), Coax for the Pi (music). I ended up with the Digione and indeed it is fantastic! This little RPi PiCorePlayer setup has been life changing :O- Grendelrt

Just some general advice, getting a little air between your stacks will keep temps down a lot. I 3d printed some spacers for my schiit stack but you can buy larger feet or something as well. Also after the amp is fully warmed and been running a good long time, check you low and high gain. My...- Grendelrt

Just an update, in case anyone is in same situation. Schiit sent me a label to send back the Lyr, when they get confirmation I have mailed it back they are going to send me a new Lyr replacement and my 15 day period restarts once I receive that one. This is a pretty good solution I feel, not...- Grendelrt

One of the links I posted above they had it repaired and then came back and died. Something rubs me wrong about paying for basically a refurbished product out of the gate, especially for 700 bucks. I may just return it and start my search elsewhere I guess, only stack I have bought was Schiit so...- Grendelrt

I was afraid you were going to say that, what did you end up getting instead? I don't understand having to have a brand new amp repaired, any other store you walk in and say this is defective and they give you a new one.- Grendelrt

Yeah, so there are 3 posts and all are right channel so far. What did they end up doing with yours after it failed the second time. I don't want a repair on an amp that was delivered yesterday, would prefer they just send me a new amp.- Grendelrt

Well I didn't realize I was in low gain mode. I changed to high gain mode and my right channel is half the volume of my left channel. Guess its time to message Schiit. Now debating whether I even do a RMA, I was already 50/50 ordering this unit due to the posts I saw in here about problems. This...- Grendelrt

Ok awesome, I don't care enough either if its somewhat normal. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't because the internal board was off the standoffs or something. Thanks!!- Grendelrt
