Suggestions for Modifying HD-595 Earcups?
I've owned my Senn HD-595s for about 2 years now, and I enjoy them very much. They do however have a serious problem that I've been unable to resolve. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/hd5...omfort-175457/ Quote: Inside of the earcup there is a small raised triangular region that is...- greg_boz

Recommended Earcup Covers for a pair of Sennheiser HD 595's ?
Quote: I suppose you could order a pair of HD515 pads. They're covered with fabric, not velour Thanks for the lead, is fabric preferred or is velour? I used to have a low-end pair of sennheisers that had a very nice soft material for the ear pads. The stock 595 pads feel a bit rougher...- greg_boz

Recommended Earcup Covers for a pair of Sennheiser HD 595's ?
Hey guys, I haven't had any responses so I'll try this differently. Can anyone recommend where to buy earcup covers? Whether they are one-size-fits-all, replacement covers, etc...it doesn't matter, I would really just like a phone number or e-mail address so I could ask them about my...- greg_boz

Quote: Hey greg, im just wondering, do u just have big ears or is the design really troublesome? 'Cause all the feedbacks ive read say that the hd555/595 are extremely comfortable to wear... Well, it's a bit strange. I never thought I had big ears and I looked in the mirror and...- greg_boz

HD595 Discomfort
Well, the 1/4" OD tubing came today and I applied the mod but unfortunately I'm still not getting enough displacement to keep that raised traingular area from rubbing against my left ear(the right ear is fine). I tried inserting more material but the earcups are just about as 'stretched' out as...- greg_boz

What's the minimum gain level I can use w/ my PA2v2 and still get all the benefits?
I just received my first headphone amp in the mail, Gary's PA2v2. My concern is the following: How high do I need to turn the gain level up in order to recieve all of the auditory benefits of the amp, without endangering my hearing? I'm afraid if I leave the gain level too high I might...- greg_boz

Thanks gerG, you've given me hope! Can you tell me the exact tubing type you used to mod your HD595s? I googled for black rubber dive tubing with 1/4" OD but I'm having trouble finding anything. There are dive shops around the Atlanta area I can try. What should I tell them I'm looking...- greg_boz

HD595 Discomfort
Quote: If you're wearing 10+ hours per day then the clamping force of the HD650 might be an issue for you, I am led to believe that its noticably harder than the other models in the series. Hmm, well now I'm really stuck. Other than enthusiasts meetings...is there a place(retailer)...- greg_boz

HD595 Discomfort
OK thanks I PMed gerG. I'm thinking of maybe just upgrading to the HD650s instead, I wear headphones 10+ hours a day so physical comfort is very important to me. Is there anything else in the $200-$350 range that might better suit my needs? Also, I live in the Atlanta area...is there a...- greg_boz

HD595 Discomfort
I'm loving my new Senn HD595s but there's one small problem that's driving me nuts! Inside of the earcup there is a small raised triangular region that is making contact with my ear. Whenever I move my head I can feel the earcup grazing against the top of my ear. My old Sennheiser's were much...- greg_boz
