Does anyone else think that the SR80i sounds grainy and fatiguing?
I just think they're a little overrated from all the hype and good reviews I've seen. My random stereo speakers are more clear. I do admit that they're pretty good for rock music, but overall I don't know how you could call them really good headphones when you can hear graininess and muddy...- greenboarder89

Does anyone else think that the SR80i sounds grainy and fatiguing?
I just bought a pair of these from seeing at all the great reviews about it. and I must say they hurt my ears after 10 minutes of listening to them. When I play rock music, all the sounds from the electric guitars, drums, and vocals make the sound pretty grainy lacking clarity or separation. The...- greenboarder89

Headphones for drum and bass, dubstep for around 100$, advice?
I recommend the ATH-M50 also; i recently got my pair and they're awesome! they'll be great for your type of music! if you do buy them, just remember to decide if you want the coiled cable version(ATH-M50) or the 9 foot straight cable version(ATH-M50s). And yes, I would also like to know...- greenboarder89

Trying to decide between Alessandro MS-1i and the ATH-M50s
well i decided to go for the ath-m50 and a fiio e5 amp. the m50 seemed like a safer choice; i saw less complaints about it than the alessandro and it seemed more versatile in music choice and portability. i do want to try out some grados some day though. and nevertheless, i figure that either...- greenboarder89

Trying to decide between Alessandro MS-1i and the ATH-M50s
thank you for your thorough responses i really just want a fun headphone to listen to. can i get that with either of these? the very accurate headphones sound boring and dull like something a sound studio would use. would you describe sound stage as the 3D sound effect of the headphones?- greenboarder89

Trying to decide between Alessandro MS-1i and the ATH-M50s
Hello headfi community! After some searching for a sub $100 pair of headphones, I have decided on these two. I will be mainly listening to rock. I have never experienced Grado's sound signature, but am interested in trying them out. I assume that open headphones have better sound quality; not...- greenboarder89
