    i had a vendor recommend these: I have a couple excellent Radiotechniques on hand, 1960s vintage - they are $39.50 ea. I also have the excellent RFT (German) tube for $24.50 ea. I have this as well...(1) 6189 RCA black vertical rib plate 3 mica square getter, NOS in a white box...

    i have kinda narrowed it down between Shure 840s, AKG 271s & AT 50s. Shures appear to maybe fit more snugly, but i hae always been intrigued with AKG sound.

    i guess another qualifier should be that i will be laying down on a pillow most of the time with these, so i guess that would disqualify the more bulky ones that might be recommended otherwise. Does that apply to the 250s or Shures?
