Best stand for LCD-2s?
Looking for stand recommendations for the LCD2. I currently use the Sieveking Omega but it isn't optimal for the LCD-2s. Woo Audio HPS-R stand looks like it is solid with a nice top bar, but just wondering what the conventional wisdom is for these headphones.- Girardian

LCD2 and Lyr+Bifrost combo..
I have the Asgard / Bifrost / LCD2 combo and love it. This is obviously different than what you asked, but I can say the combo I have is a great match and with the kudos the Lyr receives should be a step up.- Girardian

Troubleshooting External DAC / Mac PowerBook Setup
Yes, I'm using a mini TOSLINK adapter in the headphone out and the cable is lit. I am using the Built-in Output for the Output Source also on Digital Out. What's the best default format to use? I also tried with Audiarvana and I just bought BitPerfect. No success yet on anything...- Girardian

Troubleshooting External DAC / Mac PowerBook Setup
I'm an experienced audiophile, but new to computer audio. I'm trying to test to troubleshoot a problem that I hope has an easy solution. Setup: - Macbook Pro (mid-2010) - Schiit Asguard - Schiit Bifrost - Audeze LCD-2 (v.2) - Wireworld Supernova Toslink with adapter -...- Girardian

Does having tinnitus mean no more headphones?
Topping this thread - I have this, and have just started listening regularly for longer periods to headphones. I find my tinnitus more noticeable after listening on headphones (but have never noticed this listening to music via speakers). I've noticed this more since using "open"...- Girardian

Cable recommendation for s/pidf / Toslink > mini cable for Schiit Bifrost to MBP
Any thoughts on this or the choice of connectors and cable (the Bi-Frost has Coaxial SPDIF and Optical SPDIF inputs)? Read some prior posts - looks like Coax is preferred. -
Cable recommendation for s/pidf / Toslink > mini cable for Schiit Bifrost to MBP
I have a 2010 MBP. Going to order the BiFrost sans the USB upgrade. Any recommendations for a s/pidf / Toslink -> Mini-Toslink cable for this set up? I was looking @ BlueJeans: Belden 1505F Digital Audio Cable (high flex) BNC -> 1/8" This is for an office set up - with a...- Girardian

Best "Beginner" DIY Recabling for Koss KSC75s?
I'd like to cut my DIY chops on re-cabling some KOSS KSC75s. I was wondering what those here with experience on these headphones would recommend for: (a) cable; (b) design; and (c) connector. I was thinking of Star Quad and F12 and a basic braid ... but that sounds so ... conventional and...- Girardian

EastSound E5 Signature "Prime" Ed. ... anyone heard and compared?
I own an Esound (Eastsound) E5 Signature -- browsing the Cattylink site I see they have a "duper-deluxe-premium" edition of the "super-deluxe" edition CDP I purchased. I'm curious if anyone here has done a side-by-side comparison. The "Prime" Edition of this CDP is substantially more...- Girardian

NorCal SOTA Meet 11/17 San Leandro
I am *very* interested in hearing Neil's player, and to A/B it against the EMMLabs, if possible. I won't contribute a rig to this event, but if (later) we have a meet with a separate room for speakers, I'd be glad to bring some GMA monitors which may be of interest to some Head-Fiers.- Girardian

battery powered audio
Power is very important -- I've always pondered batteries but sort of shrugged it off given the cost and complexity (other than for something like a DAC). Solar is intriguing. "Eco" sound -- pure clean sun powered audio. Sign me up.
