gerG
One of the first ones.
- Location
- Arizona/Michigan
- Interests
- Music, acoustics, home audio, car audio, studio audio, mountain biking (and bike building). I set up and run sound for live bands from time to time.
- Headphone Inventory
- Lots, but I gave up on headphones when I built my first nearfield system. Speakers give me much more control over imaging and response. Sorry.
- Headphone Amp Inventory
- They are all over the place. I still like the Grace M901 the best (I have 2 of them around somewhere). The SAC works great with the AKG K1000s.
- Source Inventory
- Many computers and DACs. Also various ADCs and DAWs. It is all about the music.
- Cable Inventory
- You would not believe! XLR-M and -F to TRS, XLR and TRS to RCA, AES/EBU, glass toslink, S/PDIF, etc...and I can never find the one that I need when I am looking for the damned thing! Miles of speaker wire.
- Power-Related Components
- Several ETA PD11SS sequenced power conditioners. A couple of Monster power conditioners, some Furman pieces, and a whole shitload of Tripp-Lite isobar surge supressors.
- Other Audio Equipment
- I have been designing and building subwoofers for over 40 years. I can't throw a tweeter without hitting one around here.
- Audio-Related Tweaks
- Room acoustics rule. My outdoor systems are the biggest challenge, and the most gratifying listen.
- Music Preferences
- Jazz, classical, electronic, rock...pretty much anything but country or rap. Music is a journey, and I love hearing new stuff from all over the world!
- Occupation
- Ex-combustion engineer (flame at your own risk)
