    Recommendations for closed headphones

Environment: Office, 8 hours Budget: <$50 Music: I am a technical writer, so most of what I listen to is by necessity instrumental or sound environments. Style: I prefer on-ear style, and foam earpads, but not mandatory.    Thanks!

Need Help: iPod, Cowon or Sansa

I thought I'd reply to this thread even though it's almost a year old, in case anyone finds my response helpful. I've been considering the same question. The BIGGEST question to consider is - how/where will you be using the player? I have a Cowon D2+ that has served me well for almost 5 years...

General purpose IEMs - <$50 - office, workout, travel

Sounds like the A151s will be my next phones! Thanks everyone!   PS - You know, there's really a gap in IEM choice between $75 and $200, and $100+ is too much to spend on portables, IMO.

Review by 'genesisman' on item 'Ultrasone Zino'

These are pretty nice portables, but not for use on anything but computers and portable players. The S-Logic sound takes a little getting used to until they're burned in, after that they're just fine. They can sound artificial though, and I 'm glad I didn't pay any more for these (they MSRP'd at...

Review by 'genesisman' on item 'Panasonic RP-HT46-S Stereo Headphones with XBS Extra Bass System (Silver)'

These were a great little portable, folding over-the-ear headset I had and loved for a long time, with an inline volume control. Until one day when I folder them up, and got a whiplash effect somehow, breaking the headband in half. Not good.

These are basic, generic, all-purpose phones, nothing special but they work.

Review by 'genesisman' on item 'Sennheiser CX 400-II Stereo Ear-Canal Headphones - Black'

I was extremely disappointed with these, thinking they'd sound much better than they do. They sounded, weak, thin, and tinny, with no bass. After reading some reviews here and elsewhere I can't believe the rating they get compared with what I got -- so I'm wondering if I got a bad pair. But it's...

General purpose IEMs - <$50 - office, workout, travel

Overall on Head-Fi, the Brainwavz M1 are rated lower than IEMs by MEelec, SoundMagic, and Dunu. The M2s are a possibility, if I can find them for a steal of a price.   Speaking of Dunu and SoundMagic, I have a concern about the customer service reputation of these Chinese companies. I have...

General purpose IEMs - <$50 - office, workout, travel

JK1 posted (post is hidden on site?)  that the MC5s are $59, this is correct, I would get used ones if I decided on those. JK1 also mentioned the MEElectronics A151 ($50, amazon) and M21 ($23, amazon, rates lower).   I've seen their name bandied about on various websites including this one...

General purpose IEMs - <$50 - office, workout, travel

I'm looking for a good pair of general purpose IEMs, $50 or less, for office, workout, and travel. I want good sound, but since these will be for portable players and desktop computers I don't want to spend a lot of money in case they get lost, stolen, or stepped on. Looking for something that...
