Just a 16gb iPhone.     I actually had a wireless setup like that at home... using my iPhone or iPad connected to a wireless NAS drive.     In the end I just found it a bit too clunky, and decided a dedicated player would be the way to go.     Now i'm extremely happy with my Fiio X3 v2.

Looking at reviews so far, they all appear pretty positive in regards to the X3II.  I'm very quickly being swayed to the more reasonably priced end.

Yeah i did mean the 1st gen AK100.   I forgot to mention that all those prices are Australian, and we get kind of shafted when compared to US prices in general, both on exchange rates, and RRPs. For example the AK100s had original prices of AUD1100+
