    ZMF Verite Open

Super interested in both of these, but having just bought 2 ZMF headphones some months ago there's no way in hell I will be able to have one of these for quite a while. Just based on the fancy name, vérité, it's obviously going for even more neutral than the Auteur (you know, cause 'truth' =...

    Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11

Yeah, I was able to blind A/B between R28 8XOS and and R2R-11. R28 NOS vs R2R-11 was harder unless the song was real subbass crazy...then I could pick out the R2R-11 as having more. I haven't listened to planars outside of the LCD2C and LCD2, and neither with the R-28. I did like the R28, it...

    Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11

Using my ZMF Auteur Blackwood. It's quite noticable. Overall the R28 is superior in many dimensions (soundstage, clarity, bass control), but the R2R-11 has this enjoyable distortion in the mids or something that makes it addicting. And way more sub bass. R28 has better controlled and precise...

    Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11

I liked the R2R-11 way more. Sounded more organic with less digital glare. Also the sub-bass kicks harder, harder than the 11.28 and even the R-28. Maybe the 11.28 had more microdetail, but to me it just sounded ...fake.

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

Totally disagree. Auteur sub bass goes deeper and rumbles harder than the Atticus. Even moreso with EQ and the sub bass heavy R2R 11. Atticus midbass kicks like a mule, whereas the Autuer has little.

Plugged my HD599 into my R28 and it makes it sound like a $300+ headphone. Very impressive. Leagues above my Fulla 2, even with just an HD599. Dem mids and bass...mmm.

    Audio-gd R2R DAC Thread

Tried NOS-3 extensively. Didn't like it. Felt like halfway between NOS-1 and OS8X. If I want detail, OS8X. Pure musicality, NOS-1. NOS-3 split the difference, but that's just my take. I really feel NOS-1's mids shine compared to the other modes. The fact my R2R-11 can hang with the NOS modes of...

NOS-1 mode is closest to my R2R-11. I'm using that. Don't mind the loss of a bit of OS8X detail; it sounds more musical this way.

8XOS has amazing clarity and organic sound...but the NOS 1 mode gets me more into the music despite slightly less resolution and dryness...

Quick Impressions after a few hours: -8XOS default mode is amazing. Crystal clear detail with none of the digital glare of DS. -NOS settings sounds 85-90% like the R2R-11. Has a bit more clarity up top, but it's not worth 4x the price. If you've got an R2R-11 and are in love with its super...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Deep soundstage, amazing sub bass, excellent detail retrieval, decent noise isolation for an open back. Actually has mids, unlike the X2. Only negative is a timbre better suited for pop-EDM-rap instead of actual instruments. I'm not saying it sounds 10x better (audio = diminishing returns), but...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Klipsch is V shaped and looks like the X2, but is closer to a better version of the TH-X00 series. Either way, I love the X2, but it cannot even remotely compete with the HP3 in terms on anything.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

^Jesus, dude. You sound like he murdered your family with that level of hate. Also, the X2 has considerable sub bass roll off; their midbass is what is emphasized.

Yeah, the Audio GD chart is confusing as hell and I have no idea how to do that! Correct me if I'm wrong: S1 with jumper, S4 with jumper, S5 without, S3 doesn't matter?

I'm so impressed with my R2R-11 I'm dying waiting for my R-28. I really wonder if it can make my Auteurs sound even better.
