What is strange to me is that no one else seems to have this problem, yet when I contacted Chord they said it is normal for the mojo to mute the first seconds of a track when the sample rate changes to avoid "an audible pop."

Yeah it looks like I have a defective unit. I'm definitely returning it now.

How would one of these pair with a slightly bright hd700? Bear in mind the hd700 sounds nothing like the hd600 so it would be difficult to compare it to them.

Sorry for being so defensive, so like I said Im asking because Im not an expert on the matter, but DACs just turn the digital signal to analog, and with the exception of resolution not much of the sound changes, so a good  DAC will provide a high quality untainted  source that the amp can take...

Hey I have an HD700 and I'm loving the soundstage straight out of my fiio x5, but I want more is this amp/dac that bad with soundstage or what amps/dac would improve soundstage over the element in this price range?

Yeah I tried both, and the hd650 will make Edm very musical and pleasurable to listen too, but the HD700 just pumps out detail like no ones business, and in really sound design intensive edm the HD700s are awesome.  I went with the HD700s, right now they're hooked up to my fiio x5.

Hi I own the sennheiser HD 700 and adore the soundstage I get from it with my Fiio x5 but I want an amp, will the jds labs open up the soundstage or compress it? It may seem silly but it makes a big difference to me. Thanks

Well two months later I listened to both headphones and saved up the money and my final decision was to get the HD700. I did enjoy the HD650's warmth but I enjoyed the micro-detail of the HD700 even more and the treble issues were non-existant to me. Thanks for all the help and opinions guys but...

I'm going to be upgrading my amplifier from the e12 to the jds c5 in few months after I upgrade to the HD 700 headphones. I wanted to know if I would be loosing my audio's spaciousness by sticking to an e12. Thanks a ton!:)
